The slide boost that was patched wasn’t intended to be in the game, same with fast fall.

It is where you would drop of a ledge faster then average, practically instantly

The game engine technically allowed it, but it wasn’t coded in as a feature. I think they would’ve kept it if it weren’t for the map exploits you could do, plus some maps becoming unfair based on where the player spawned from.
If it’s not an intentional mechanic, it’s an exploit.

Even though it wasn’t intended to be in the game, i don’t understand why they couldn’t leave it… It’s the same with crouch jumping/Grenade jumping/Rocket jumping. I doubt bungie intended those to be in the game, but built a lot of things out of it.

I think in the cases of older game exploits and glitches, patching them was a lot harder and lot more expensive due to the patch process for the 360. Stuff like superbouncing and BXR would have been removed if it was possible without affecting the game any further.

Ahhh okay, makes sense. But even so, the fact that they couldn’t be removed actually built a game around all of it… I just believe Slide Boosting had potential and could of seen play in not just Competitive play but with custom games, but now we’ll never know without it ‘breaking the game’.

Pretty much this. Yea the devs miss things when they develope but they only have so many people and so much time to try and find bugs/glitches/exploits. Ect ect. It’s clearly something the devs didn’t intend to be in game if they’re removing it.

what is FAST FALL?
I just played the update - you can still slide-boost and it still provides a good amount of extra momentum, you just can’t do the glitched version that is on the edge of a ramp that provided even more of a boost.
It wasn’t.

By that logic half of what makes up every game is an exploit.
The slide boost was fun but it can really break a lot of the maps and was never an intended mechanic. Just because it was there doesn’t mean that was supposed to be there since it is impossible to test for every single permutation of movement sets and play styles.

Maybe they’ll release exploit DLC in the feb update
