What was done in Halo 3 to make it work, and why can’t it be recreated in Halo 4?
I love making custom games, and there’s lots of options, so what’s missing that was in Halo 3?
The pistol didn’t shoot like a lightning bolt in H3 and wasn’t as accurate.
The shotgun didn’t have as much range, which gave a fighting chance for the zombies.
Those are the only two I can think of.
The main problem is that you can’t change flood weapons and the humans’ armor color. Also, I which you could choose between the new flood skin and a regular spartan.

huh. so infection wasn’t ever a custom gametype (as in created from an FFA slayer template) but was always provided by Bungie as it’s own gametype template with customizable weapons and such?

Correct. It was added in by Bungie due to the popularity of “Zombies” in Halo 2, which was exactly as you suggested - a team slayer game with special rules. The two teams were yellow and…I think green. All players spawned with a pistol and a sword. If you were a zombie, you could only use the sword. If you were human, you could only use the pistol. And if you died as a human, you had to change teams.
