How Was Campaign Good?

What the title says. I, for one, was not expecting a campaign like this. I’ve already made a similar thread asking for people’s opinions on why they thought this Halo 5 story was the best campaign yet, but I received no proper replies.

One of the problems I had with it was the length of it. I’m pretty sure 343i claimed that this would be the biggest campaign to date that will have one heck of a shocker. But… the levels felt kind of bland. Remember how some of the Halos before (even Halo 4) had Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie rally points which basically cut each level into thirds? There was none of that in Halo 5 because of how short it was. It was probably the shortest campaign to date.

Another thing was the advertisements. I got pretty hyped for the campaign, wondering what did Chief do that was so bad that would make Locke attempt to kill him. Seriously, from the ads, you would expect some bloodbath but all we got was a short fight and Locke tried to save Chief afterwards. There was no real hate between the guys (though I loved that fight scene). I get what the truth was, but the rivalry was hardly there.

Anyways, I would like to know from those of you who enjoyed the story and campaign a lot why you liked it so much. Please don’t just say I’m a troll like some of you do and claim that this was the best Halo 5 story and just that. Be constructive.

Thanks!

I enjoyed the story, yeah it was shorter than I would have liked but I cant help that. I’ve been reading the books and following the story since Halo 3, so I wasnt too confused about anything. Was it bland? yeah some levels were. My favorite one was going through the Sanghelios city.

Well with chief seemingly activating the guardians which killed millions of innocents, might be a bit of a reason to hunt him down…

The writing was god awful but the gameplay and all the alternate routes, secret weapons and vehicles and stuff was great.

The campaign was mechanically awesome but the story’s delivery, though foreshadowed, faltered.

The Anti-Marketing only hurt the game…I’d LOVE to hear Frankie justify this btw

Though I’m sure Locke knew it had something with SPOILERS! cortana. He did say she was his team’s priority now. Locke only had to bring him in for disobeying Infinity’s orders.

I’m sick of the ‘yo check out this forerunner installation dawg’ map. The last 3 levels were all like that. It was awesome in the second level of Halo. Please, only one of these per game, man.

i enjoyed the halo 5 campaign more than the halo 4 one, but im afraid that the story has gone to -Yoink-. i guess ill let halo 6 decide whether it has or hasnt.

Exactly.

I didn’t like not playing as the Chief, the same goes for Halo 2 as well. I didn’t like the forced squad for the entire game. The game was however exceptionally high quality. Just let down by decision makers at 343 and MS who don’t care about their fans but instead pushing their whole “lets play together” spiel and new lead characters.
