Okay, so recently I started playing Halo 3 multiplayer(Halo TMCC) and have struggled with the BR. I am getting a little better at Halo 3 in general but still suck with the BR. I have heard the same advice before, about leading shots, but I cannot figure it out. I can get kills with teammates but leading confuses me because: I don’t know how far to lead, trying to lead shots distracts me from aiming, and the BR spread feels random(in TMCC anyways). I am not a good shot to begin with; therefore, I don’t worry if I am shooting the body or head unless I am at close range. Every burst for me is: let’s hope at least one out of three shots hits the guy.
The netcode in Halo 3 on TMCC collection is off, you can be a good shot and miss a lot. Halo 3 is broken on that game

Yeah, when Halo 3 becomes backwards compatible, I will definitely switch over to playing the original version. I haven’t really experienced the original Halo 3, but maybe it will be more fun than TMCC. I do hope that I don’t get completely crushed by the Halo veterans, because that is what always happens to me in Halo 2 on TMCC.
MCC killed hit detection bad in Halo 3.
In Halo 3 though you need to lead your shots a little bit. For example if someone is running to the right across your screen you need to trace them not with the center of your reticule but with the left side of it, trace with right side of reticule for someone running left across your screen. During the 360 years when I was somewhat okay at the game I used to aim around the neck/shoulders area. My logic for that was because it was quick and easy to kick-up for the headshot but there’s more leeway at the shoulders when leading shots. No idea if that’s actually the best way but that’s how I aimed when I was playing actively, ultimately do what’s best for you.
Halo 3 on MCC is fake. The -Yoink- registration is not there. You have to really follow your shot
