How to TRULY bring Halo back to its former glory.

Hear me now, fellow Halo fans- I believe I have found a way to truly bring Halo back to its glory days of worldwide popularity, as experienced in the days of Halo 3 and Reach. Although Halo is far from dead, it’s certainly no longer the king of First Person Shooters- and I believe that 343 needs to do one thing to reclaim the crown.
You see, one of the most common complaints about Halo 5 was that it focused too much on Spartan Locke and Fireteam Osiris, who are criticised for lacking depth, chemistry, and overall I C O N I C-ness. So therefore, the sole thing Halo Infinite must do to fix past mistakes is focus on a different character. A character who dons green armour. A character that Halo fans have been with for well over a decade now. A character whose name ends the word ‘Chief’. You guys know who I’m talking about.

That’s right, MISTER CHIEF himself! For years, that cruel imposter ‘Master Chief’ has stolen the limelight from this loveable underdog. He may not be drawn well, he may not be as recognisable as his impersonator, and he may be an absolute joke of a character, but to me, he has the potential to be so much more. Since Mister Chief has been delegated to the role of a mere mascot throughout much of his existence, we have yet to grasp the true extent of his fighting prowess- could he take out a covenant fleet with nothing more than a winning smile? Personally, I think so. If he were made the main protagonist, it would bring the series in new directions unheard of in any Halo Game prior. Bungie art style? 343 art style? How about ‘5 minutes in MS paint’ artstyle? A bold choice for sure, but one I’m certain the fans would accept wih open arms. Will Cortana make an appearance? Not likely, son- Mister Chief is a strong, independent MS paint abomination who don’t need no blue lady. A Mister Chief-focused Halo game would be revolutionary, not just for the franchise, but for the whole industry.

So 343, I beg that you take my suggestion. I know you’re pretty deep into Halo: Infinite’s development, and that turning back now would be a waste of years of work- but I obviously know more than your entire team of professional game designers with years of expertise because I am a guy who sits on the internet all day, and therefore I know everything. So scrap everything and start over plz. I’ll send you $5 in the mail as compensation, promise.

I think what Halo needs to return to it’s former glory is to go back to it’s roots. Halo needs classic gameplay without sprint or spartan abilities, the classic artstyle, and the classic soundtrack.

I agree with that but I feel that the 343 Industries fans would hate that. I’ve been a Halo fan since the beginning and prefer the classic gameplay. Honestly, they can do whatever they want, all I ask is that there’s a playlist or two that are strictly for classic gameplay fans. Zero sprint and zero armor abilities. It’d be pleasing both types of fans without angering or losing one side or the other

That was very unexpected and I thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the last paragraph. Thanks OP. Let’s get Telltale to do the game while we’re at it, I believe the best way to portray Mister Chief would be an epic comedy point and click adventure.
