Hey there! So, you just came back from work/ school and decided to play some halo 5 and there, you saw: Team snipers! So you decide to hop on and play a game or two but dang- you got placed against MLG pros or so you think. You loose horribly and now you are all upset. You think you suck at halo 5. Not anymore! If you suck at snipers, It’s no biggie! Sniping is not a skill everyone has and it’s not mandatory! But someday, you might find yourself stuck in a 1v1 and the only tool you have is a sniper. Well, this guide just might help you get out of that situation and help you quite frankly to: git gud.

Know: Awareness is key to sniping. Know where your enemies are, know where you are, know the weapon you are using etc. Now, you don’t need to jump into forge and take a good look at all the spawns- all you need to do is have a rough idea of where the enemies are spawning- (hint: it’s on the other side of the map.) Everytime your teammates die: They leave a little ‘X’ marker above them- that means the enemy has an eye on that spot so, avoid it. Oh and always, ALWAYS. Stay mobile. Camping might be a good thing with just 1 sniper but when there are snipers everywhere, you need to rek and -Yoink-. Try not to stay too close to teammates because a good sniper could get an easy double kill. Try to avoid open grounds and dead centers as much as possible. Cover is your best friend. Talking about cover, always keep your finger on the thrust button- It’s made so that you can dodge attacks. Keep in mind, a sniper’s most valuable thing is not their gun, but their location.

The sniper: Know what type of sniper you are using. The regular UNSC sniper is the one we are talking about RN but each sniper has different properties. The UNSC sniper is a monster. Unlike the beam rifle, you can time your shots. I don’t know how to really differentiate it but you will know it when you see it. I’m sure we are all familiar with the lens glare that comes from the front of the sniper- that is really helpful. Every time you see a little flash, thrust to the side. Once you are in cover, Try and get a shot on where that glare came from- DO NOT try and strafe to the side and get a kill because the enemy will be expecting you and he can get a shot on you before you can. Maybe it’s just me but, you know when it’s a kill- Sometimes you shoot the gun and you know it for a fact that you are gonna hit the target. When that moment comes, thrust back as soon as you have the shot in. kind of like this. Now, the UNSC sniper is meant for long range combat but I recommend using the 4x zoom at all times. Now, don’t take my word for it, try and experiment and see which one is better for you. Oh and one more thing, Don’t go close quarters. Just don’t. If you are one of those people who goes behind enemy lines and assassinates, shame on you. But if you accidently get In a CQC battle with someone, good luck. No scopes are pretty hard but I’m sure there are some tips for it too. the only one I know is- don’t spam your shots (Also applies to long range combat).

Have fun!: Always remember- It’s just a game and team snipers is NOT a competitive playlist. If you are losing, you are only learning how you could have avoided that loss. The playlist is meant for practice. Just play a couple of games, learn from your mistakes. Remember: Practice makes perfect.
Now that you know some tips, you can try them out and you will be a FaZe member in no time.
