How to swing the Ban Hammer

I don’t know about most of you but I absolutely hate it when people quit and leave the team to take a beating. Nothing ruins my experience more then playing with uneven teams. Granted it does not happen every match but it sure does happen quite a bit. And no not always does it turn into a beat down. Some times it works in favor of my team. But that’s not the point. It seems alot of times people quit because they are losing.

HALO has yet to solve this problem. I propose that the bam should more harsh and be longer for even the first offense. Right now it’s too light. 24-hr ban for any and all quitters. They keep up it then weekly bans. I believe the love for the game will out weigh in peoples minds of quitting.

If I am banned for quitting one game, that would be the reason I would never touch the game again. If it is so sensitive I would be afraid of breaking the poor thing, if I touched it again.

Are you serious, you want a longer ban?
with Overwatch, Division, Halo Wars 2, Battlefield 1, and Cod MW1 remastered coming out Halo’s population will diminish,
I don’t know about you but I see people i know a lot in warzone and arena, i want new people to come in and this ban system of yours would stop that.

I don’t arena very much but when I do, there are quitters, we started out 3v4. I support the 24 hour ban for WZ, and ranked arena.

Wasn’t there a certain game mode that almost got removed because 343i thinks it’s a good idea to constantly ban its population? Sure, let’s do that in every game mode

So I have an issue where if I’m partied up with a buddy that has a poor internet connection, 50% of the time one of use gets booted before the game begins and we get a “left fireteam” error. Problem is after we play 3 or 4 games one of us inevitably gets banned temporarily after this happens even though the team still gets filled with a 4th before the game begins. It’s a bizarre issue and I don’t understand the issue because we can both play separately without any problems. My main concern is a potential 24 hour ban because I wanted to play some halo with my buddy. I play a way too much Halo and we’ve always played together since the dawn of the series. So this would effectively be removing me from the only game I play because of a weird connection bug and strict ban. Until the banhammer is 100% accurate at targeting true quitters I think this is a bad idea. Even then, Instead of removing quitters from matchmaking completely just remove them from the arena for 24 hours.

I guess I found the quitters  Being dropped from the game is different then quitting that I would forgive. But this self entitled brats these days can’t accept that you will lose sometimes deserve to be banned. If a 24hr ban scares to you off to another game then good riddance don’t want your type anyway.

Reckless banning will result in a great drop in population, regardless of whether they quit, been booted for afk or got disconnected. Not only will it drop the population in this game it will most likely effect the sales of the next game.

That there is a hilarious attitude, with newer games coming out and others that one could play. Just push ppl away from Halo.

The real world doesn’t revolve around halo. If a match means that much to you then instead of a ban how about removing the leave match option and if you unplug your console then it’s a ban for life.

Pretty sure stat flaming is against the rules…

As for the topic, I don’t think the bans should be harsher or longer.

I think it will make people that quit allot of games avoid the game. But at the same time it’ll encourage people that just want to play a good match of Halo to play.

Bans aren’t the right way to go about punishing quitting. If the team is losing and someone leaves you clearly weren’t going to make a comeback anyway. The world doesn’t revolve you and there’s plenty of reasons one might want to leave the game which you’ve conveniently skipped over (dinner, friend invites, DC, having to answer the door/phone or children are a small handful of examples). The fact that the bans affect every game mode is already way harsher than it ever should’ve been to begin with. You will never be able to stop people leaving and I suggest you grow up and accept that or stop playing. It’s like saying to end all violence in the world we should just shoot people who cause it.

What if someone has a power out or their xbox stops working or something mid game? Unlikely but whoever that does happen to would be unjustly banned for life.

I’m getting banned when I get kicked from a game I just got banned for 8:30 hours what the heck

Sarcasm. Not mention the server issues a lot of people (myself included) lose connection in a match and end up being reported for something that I can’t control.

My bad. I had I feeling you were being sarcastic but I just said that just to be sure.

Then when people complain “Why is Halo’s population so low”, well just direct them to this comment.

Are you kidding me??? LOL I have been on teams that come back from big leads. Even WZ match 300-700 and we come back to win. To quit because your team is lossing? Seriously dude. Grow a pair and be a man, take it like a man. You’re the type where everyone gets a trophy… Being disconnected is one thing. And no one should be banned for that. But leaving mid game cause mommy made you dinner? Yes! Most certainly yes. OMG good god YES! Should not have joined a game in the first place. I’m guessing if your team was winning your happy meal could wait. Door bell, phone, kids whatever your distraction is you can set the controller down. I know right! Mind blown! Why didn’t you think of that before, but that’s ok I got you kiddo.

If you love the game you will come back to the game. I have been banned for disconnects. It happens. I get it and I felt bad for my teammates. We were doing a fine job of whooping @$$. But for those like this guy above you most certainly deserve the ban. I’m even all for your ranks being reset completely. Punish those who ruin the game for others. Even if the population drops which would only leave those who love the game enough to play the game.
