How to stop the dreaded "Rush" aka timed attack

I see a lot of posts complaining about rushing and serval people explaining the difference between a rush and a Timed attack which many confuse with a rush. I also see a lot of people not wanting games to end so quickly. Honestly I would like a longer game to which is why I am making this post to explain to you what I do and how to stop it.

It’s really simple guys it comes down to unit population, that little 0/80 counter in the bottom corner of your screen. I aim to always have a full 80 pop army by 8 minutes, my first army is fully upgraded grunts, would be fully upgraded marines for you UNSC players. Now yes I know not every wants to play that way, but to stop it you need a force of near equally size, size being pop. No you can’t just build 4 to 5 tanks as that is not even close to the same pop, yes they counter infantry but due to being outnumbered they get shredded quickly. No you can not just hope I don’t attack you before 10 minutes, because I will.

What you need to do is at the very least have a 60 pop army by the 8 minute mark. Whatever units you want just make sure atleast 60 pop by 8 minutes, more pop is better but do yourself a favor and atleast 60, if you have turrets on your base and you engage me at your base this should give you a good chance to repel me. More pop is better though. Make your army as big as you can by 8 minutes. If you catch my units out of place and outnumber don’t just let them retreat and call it good, hunt then down and kill them, now you have the pop advantage until I replace them.

Yes this game does have rock paper scissor in effect with counters, but counters do nothing if you are outnumber population wise. Keep that number up and either A you will get your long games or B you will start winning your short games because the enemy has yet to figure out what I just told you. It boils down to unit population

i think, rush players have respect of oponent, becouse made 1BIG AND LONG GAME WITH VETERANCY 3, ARE VERY DISAPOINTED TO ENEMY.

Like hw1 3 scorpion with spartan, just destroy the torret and stay back, ween finish the match veterancy 12 and more of 90 mins 1 game

THANK YOU for making this post - this kind of attack is not a rush - it is the current meta and a common timing attack.

What you wrote is spot on and a great counter to the early offensive. I very much agree that if you are not at LEAST 60/80 pop by the 8 min mark then you are in some trouble.

Thanks for taking time to do this.

Also, would love to be friends on XBL and 1v1 for practice. I play Forge primarily but want to play with more banished players for good practice against good banished folks. Hit me up if you would please - for that matter anyone can send me an FR just tell me in a message your from waypoint.

Gt: the co1e train - note that I always appear offline - weird glitch in my xbox I can’t undo.

Will be laddering and practicing lots this weekend.

Once the address the anti infantry rushes with global infantry will Bw countered alot easily. I do.agree that more pop means better chances but I feel that’s only part of the equation.

Knowledge can go a very long way in this game. If you can scout the enemy half way through their army building you can easily build a few counters then a counter attack army. I know right now flame throwers are dog poop, but when they bring them to their former glory those bad boys will be making BBQ for everyone

If you’d like I can play against you, I play all three Banished leaders. I don’t know if I would consider myself “good” but I don’t lose to the “rushes” that everyone complains about because I do exactly what the OP explained to do. If you want to practice against me just message me!

Well written, and explained. Thanks for the advice

Lets do it brother! Ill FR you now. Would be great to have some regular guys to play with and practice against

I agree, I usually mix grunts and choppers.

If I win the first few battles I can then have my choppers chase the stragglers and keep them on the run while my grunts go and take every power node.
