Decay is good, but doesn’t necessarily stop smurfing - in various games that have it, people heavily smurf still. Should just lock ranked to xp levels, somewhere around 10-15.
I kinda don’t feel like being punished for not playing every single day 
not sure if jeddey’s proposal is something i like, however i agree that something has to be done about smurfs. Its not fun loosing 30-50 csr every other game from a top tier player while you only gain 1 point if you would win. Sometimes it makes me quit the game for a few weeks. Eventually people will stop playing because of this. Some people say its because they dont find games but i find that hard to believe

There should be a way to detect if someone is playing with the same digital or physical copy of a game with several accounts, and cross reference with the number of hours played to any game by these accounts.

As an adult, with a wife, and responsibilities around the house… I agree 100% with this. I am lucky if I am able to game more than once a week. This proposal would force me to move on to other games in all likelihood. I feel like I am somewhat decent for how little I get to play, but this would be such a turnoff.

The Devs/343 know exactly what accounts are smurf and what are real, They also could added a rank requirement to play in any Ranked Game mode, non of this is out of the question.
the Fact is that TheDevs/343 do not want to ban player’s who use smurfs because it technically doesn’t break any of the Xbox ToS
They also do not want to restrict new players from from any playlist becausef the low population.

Do you understand you don’t see the enemy’s rank until someone wins your the enemy quits and rank doesn’t affect gameplay edit: unless you are a noob who doesn’t know how to play what’s the big deal
I think raising the minimum CSR earned (5-10 maybe?) and decreasing maximum lost (idk specifics here but 30 is way too much) would be a good way to stop honest players from getting screwed by smurfing. It could also help alleviate the 30 point CSR heartbreak that happens when you disconnect.

This would also help when I’ve had a few to many “sodas” and decide to keep playing ranked. (but that’s not the games fault)

What about familys? My girlfriend and my kids play xbox. So a single code to a single name kinda stops my kids and girl from playing those games too.

But your rank shows how experienced you may be and how much you’ve played.
Seeing your rank doesn’t matter.
If it was set to Rank 25 to be able to play competitive games you most likely wouldn’t be a smurf.

The Devs have no control over the CSR/MMR of the game or any of the systems that control that.
There is alot of red tape surrounding the ranking systems for every halo game including HaloWars2 so the odds of it being touched is next to zero.
To be fare the system would work fine if the game had a high population but it doesn’t which leads to these problems.

I am all for a minimum Rank, but not because of smurfs.
I did two back to back games with a “real” level 1 yesterday in 3v3 xwar. He went straight to tech3, and didn’t even fill all the slots of his base with buildings. His army never left his base until the other team came and steam rolled him. I don’t think that is a fun experience for him, and certainty wasn’t for his two teammates who basically joined a 2v3.
RTS games have a very long learning curve, especially to those new to the genre. To keep new players in the game they should be lead by the hand a little bit. When you first go to Multiplayer it should strongly suggest “vs. AI” playlists for new players, where his teammates can take the time to assist him. And gray out all ranked lists until they reach a minimum level – as that is not where one should learn the fundamentals.

Then the majority of multiplayer would be locked out for new people that are getting in the game

Hm, you might be correct.
While I assumed, that they share something like the matchmaking system, I always thought the CSR would be rather independent.
(In the end, the CSR is just a number per playlists and the naming in the metadata API suggests that the CSR designations are somehow specific to Halo Wars 2?)
If that’s not the case all these discussions are pretty much pointless, that’s true.

Even with a high population, the effects of teams that deliberately lower their teams MMR through new / inactive accounts should be the same?
Considering for instance the CSR updates of the current ranked 3v3 playlist, it is very likely that the current code derives the CSR adjustments from the teams combined MMR (e.g. average).
I think that the current system always suffers from teams where even a single player has a wrong MMR.
