How to stop getting lagged out of games?!

Okay, I literally never have a problem playing an online game ever. But literally two games in a row today, and a couple times the last time I played which is a few days ago, It feels like I’m getting hit offline as if I’m playing on Xbox or something. I don’t want it to get to the point where the game starts, I get 1 kill, 0 deaths… And then lag out of the game and get banned for a month.

Is anyone else having this problem? I was running a speed test while I was lagging out of a game and I was still getting my full connection speed! Not only that, my other applications like Spotify are always perfectly fine. Like I said I just don’t want to get banned for long periods of time when I’m not doing anything wrong. I feel like these bans are entirely too strict considering I never quit games ever and would have no reason to quit after getting a single kill!

Are you user a aftermarket router and not one provided by your ISP? Also have you had your router updated? And are you using wifi or Ethernet? Also what kind of wifi card you using? Have you also tried power cycle of your router? Plus have you checked firewall? on pc and router? I notice with ISP routers they tend to block ports regardless if you open a port. Usually a after market router is best. At least for me it help with games.

It’s not my router or modem at all. My ISP only accepts certain modems but I’m using an Arris Surfboard modem and Nighthawk router – your router is irrelevant unless it’s combined with the modem – so that’s not the issue. And all of my router settings are configured correctly. Like I said I play this game on Xbox just fine not to mention every other online game ever is working except this one. My ports are forwarded to the ones Xbox microsoft provides on the website as well.

I just don’t understand why this game specifically it’s working fine for the most part and then a kill later the server is looking for a new host, kicks me out the game, and then I’m banned from matchmaking instantaneously. This is unfair to be banned so strictly when this only happens every once in a while though. The first few days I had zero problems but now I can’t even play because they just ban me outright from the first two games online. I’m back on Xbox playing just fine and it’s stupid.

Perhaps to much traffic on the router? I just got done playing a game not long ago and everything ran smooth on my end. Only time I ever notice any lag on my pc is when to many devices from my room mates are taking up the routher when they steam movies an such on there tvs or mac/computer/laptop. You get the idea.

Also what servers you getting connected too when you play on Reach? Only time I ever notice a bit of lag if im put on a server on east side of the US.

I live in Florida but I’m in the Central Time Zone so I’m usually connected to Central servers. The two games I played today were on central servers.
But no it’s 100% not too much traffic on my router. I only have Spotify and Halo open when I play and my connection is 100 download and 20 upload. And like I said I’m forced to play on Xbox like I currently am as we speak, and I’m not getting any issues whatsoever. It’s something specific to Reach because all my other PC games online work just fine; and the game was working great too! It’s only the been the past couple days it’s like this. I don’t know, it’s frustrating. My main issue is the fact that I’m getting banned for this.
