How to save your halo.bungie.net data before Feb 9

The site is gone now, hope you got what you needed. It would appear that various community projects were able to get all of the data before the shutdown, so look forward to a replacement site at some point.

NM

I should mention, Gamertags containing spaces (like mine) should be fine. However, if you’re worried about the URLs not working you can replace the spaces with a “+” sign and it will work for sure.

Since the last post was locked, I came here to thank you again. I had tried using HTTrack a couple of weeks ago, but it was downloading gigabytes of data. So, this step-by-step procedure has been helpful. As for opening the data, I believe you simply have to open the “Index” file, right?

Last question: Can you please elaborate on the steps for running the program a second time? I followed the steps you mentioned, but the program ended up essentially re-writing everything in the folder I created at the beginning.

Yes just open the Index.

To run it again, since it saved your settings from the first time you have to be careful not to overwrite the first copy.
When it finishes the first time, click “Finish”. Now from the title, click the down arrow and select the file you want to run again. Click “Next” ONLY ONCE. You have to move some files around before starting it up again.
Go to wherever you saved your data to, (the default being This PC>Windows(C:)>C:\My Web Sites) and make a new folder (right click>New>Folder). Give the new folder a name similar to your saved data’s. For example, if you named it “B.net GAMERTAG”, then name the new folder “B.net GAMERTAG Complete”. Move the original into the new folder. Now back to HTTrack, click the “Action” drop down menu and change it from “Update existing download” to “Download website(s)”. Click “Next”, and then click “Finish”.

I can’t believe I missed such an important step. Editing.

Yes it can. It’s a local copy of the site, requires no connection.

i must be doing something wrong then, cant view the index offline

Thank you so much. I’ve been manually saving as much as I could, really just the games list and overall career/service record stats, but it has been slow. This is awesome. Thanks for the guide and tools!

its a shame that one of the biggest gaming franchise cant provide the stats.
i bet its a one man one week job to gather all data and implement it into the actual service record.

I don’t know what it would take, but if Bungie and 343Industries could work together to take all those old stats and implement them into the current SR on Waypoint, that would be amazing. At least we have basic stats on Waypoint. But the amount of detail and depth to the stats on halo.bungie.net is huge.

For WinHTTrack, are you supposed to go to File > B.net GAMERTAG to see everything you’ve saved? When I go to File > B.net GAMERTAG nothing happens. Is there a way to save career stats, personal heatmaps, achievements, and rating history?

Hello all. Does saving the Halo Reach matches also show who was in the that game as well? I want to be able to save the games as well the people/friends I played with.

Thanks for putting all this together. Very thorough and helpful. Wish I would have found this sooner. I got it downloading my stats now but I have 345 pages for H3 MM so not gonna hold my breath I get it all but I am at least going to try and get everything else.

You just click the Index file to see all the pages. They will all link together. Anything with drop down menus like heatmaps don’t seem to work properly.

Yes, you’ll see them. It saves every match you played.

Is it suppose to still be scanning the stats page without downloading anything for 3 hours for halo 3 mm stats, or did i do something wrong?

Imgur
What do I do when this pops up? How do I know if I saved Halo 3 Matchmaking? Also is there a way to find Halo 3 custom maps and gamemodes on the Xbox 360 (not MCC) after bungie.net takes down all the Halo content?

The site is being hit very hard right now, there are many community efforts underway to pull all the data. There really isn’t anything you can do at this point. In better news, with all that data being saved you will likely see a new site pop up in the near future where you can find your stats.
