I’ve made so many clips in Halo Reach that I want to transfer over to my laptop. However, I don’t own a capture card of some sort. I was wondering if anyone knows how to either transfer or save the clips in my laptop without using a capture card or another third party device.
Only way to transfer is via capture card, sorry
There was an old service called “Bungie Pro” (or something like that) that had you pay Bungie money for a certain amount of minutes worth of footage that you could render and upload to Youtube.
The service is now long dead (and the world is better for it) so your only alternatives are to record via a capture card, get a friend to record it with a capture card or record it off screen and have a terrible video as a result of recording using a camera.
But all is not lost actually, if your Xbox still uses red yellow and white cables there is a small selection of cheap video camcorders that you can plug your Xbox’s leads into and record live gameplay from in glorious 480p resolution, these camcorders (from what I can gather) are much more cheaper than an actual capture card but have a huge set of disadvantages compared to a capture card, you can also find videos on youtube that show you how to pull this off.
Another thing you could try is if your desktop is old enough it should have a red, yellow and white input, using certain software you can hook your Xbox up to that and record doing that (again, videos are on youtube if you thing this is a viable option).
…But the ball is in your court I guess, take this info or leave it.

This is true recently since Bungie no longer maintains their Halo way point site. But back when they did run the show there was a way to download the clips onto you’re computer. Which just about never works anymore. So the only way now since 343 doesn’t care about Reach, and Bungie is to busy with destiny is with a Capture card, or any other time of screen capturing software.

Alright thanks guys, I’ll just end up buying a capture card, and by the way check the new forum I wrote. 343i kinda messed up Halo 5’s customization. Check out my forum for more info.
The only way I’ve found to was through a Capture Card. I have the Elgato Gaming Capture HD which has worked well for the past four or so years.
