While we all know that April’s addition of visible trueskill will only be available online, I found a way to properly reward players in-game. The player with the higher trueskill should be able to force switch weapons with a teammate with a lower rank.
Similarly to how it works in campaign (or at least the Halo 3 one, I haven’t played one since because campaign is pretty irrelevant to halo), you should be able to walk up to a lower ranked teammate, press the switch weapon button, and trade weapons. So now, as a better player, I won’t have to watch my teammate pick up a snipe while I’m searching randoms and waste it. With power weapons in the hands of better players, games will be faster paced and more exciting.
There simply is no drawback to including this once the ranking system drops. It encourages players to rank up and actually put time into getting better at Halo 4. This will be a welcomed change as 343 will actually be catering to the 50s, the dedicated, talented players rather than the casual player who plays the game between releases of the next CoD.
I look forward to seeing the inclusion of this system with the April update.
Uh,… Right. Because this game doesn’t have enough problems with balance and population already. Seriously, this would just drive even more players away from the game. No thanks.

I’m pretty sure betrayals are turned off in most game modes so that’s not really an issue. Regardless, you should realize that the higher ranked player knows more about the game than you do and therefore can do more with that power weapon.
And no, you don’t “destroy” me. I don’t want to talk trash and derail the thread, but since you brought it up, you wouldn’t break one kill in a 1v1.

I’m pretty sure it just offers incentive to play the game more and get better. If the decisions 343 has made with Halo haven’t driven you away by now, then this change definitely will not. If anything it’ll reward players who are in for the long run.
Ok, you have to be either trolling or not serious at all. Honestly, it wouldn’t make players desire to get better. You are only looking at this from one perspective… YOURS. Yes it’s fun for you. Yes, you benefit from it. However, those you “steal” power weapons from are not going to enjoy it at all. EVER.
All it will do is create “class” warfare. Exactly like the obnoxious stuff that occured during the dark ages where the royalty and nobles were significantly better than the merchants and artisans while they were significantly better off than the peasantry.
Seriously, with CSR coming there is absolutely no need for a system that only serves to inflame, anger and drive away the few remaining players this game has.
Now, if you were talking about having in-game visible CSR and ways to implement that then I could agree with you. As long as it didn’t promote some equally obnoxious idea.

My point is that at this point in time people still on Halo 4 won’t leave because of this small addition. It provides incentive for players to get better and rank up.
Using your analogy, the peasants aren’t going to kill themselves if they’ve stuck around this long, they’re going to work their way up. Halo is the great meritocracy, all that matters is how good you are.
He sends me a offensive PM on xbox live, and he uses the term ‘‘peasants’’.This game needs a SOCIAl and RANKED playists, just like halo 3,this way you can stay there and avoid the ‘‘peasants’’
Ok this is my last response to you. You do realize this game makes pairings based on TrueSkill yes? This means with a lower population we have higher amounts of wild mismatches. So, your idea just doesn’t work as players are not going to be playing people of similar skill. Your idea, paired with low population AND the wild mismatches will, again, only serve to drive others away.
Besides, under your “system” if you swipe someone sniper rifle because you are “better” how then are they supposed to get better using it? Answer they won’t because someone will just take it from them and they never get to use it. Thus, they never improve with it. Think your ideas through from all sides, then look to see if there are logical fallacies. Also, it’s people like you and ideas like this that give the competitive community such a bad rep.

> Lol good one.
Campaign and Spartan Ops are irrelevant to Halo’s success. All that matters is multiplayer.

I’m saying the population won’t change so your first point is moot.
And if the system allows me to get the sniper rifle, we’re going to win so my teammates rank up. Then they’ll be more likely to be able to take it from their teammates in future games. It’s a beautiful cycle.
> Ok so, By your logic OP, If someone has a power weapon you can just smack them and switch with them?
>
> Do you know how silly that sounds?

> Not to mention say they have some Rockets/FRG/IC/Binary, You REALLY think that you’d get close enough to do that?

I actually played something other than GB/Throwdown for once and after watching some of these people play I’m pretty sure I could catch up to them seeing as they can barely walk and aim at the same time.
What games are you even going to find lower ranked players if trueskill is going to match you up? And if trueskill in h4 says your team is the same rank around, how do you even trade with a “lower” rank individual?

No two players have the exact same trueskill value after a significant number of games. It’s math.
> I would be the one taking the sniper from you don’t get it twisted.
I’m the best player who visits these forums so…
You probably won’t ever be able to play against me because your trueskill is too low anyway.
