I recently preordered Halo 5: Guardians for Xbox One at GameStop and was wondering how and when I receive the extra items for preordering it from GameStop.
You should get the codes on your receipt when you pick it up

Either in those little clips in the box, or on the receipt when you pick the copy up.
You get the game, they give you a receipt with the codes. Simples.
The download codes will be on the receipt at time of pickup on or after launch day. Any other items will be on cards inside the game case itself.
I picked up my LCE copy and my receipt had no codes at all.
Is there no way to install the game ahead of time if you preordered at Gamestop? Also on the 27th will they be handing out preorders as soon as the store opens or at a certain time?

In my experience, preorder copies generally come with a flyer inside with the code on.

I’m not sure how it works with gamestop, but I had gotten my LCE from Amazon, and I had gotten my codes on the 20th when it arrived. The gamestop pre order codes should have been on the receipt. I see no reason you would have to wait until the 27th to get them.
