How to Prepare for Halo 4 - Halo 3 vs Reach

I found this video, by bravo, to be informative. Even if it’s things we already knew, it kinda reminds me of how this game plays and has good clarification. Of course everyone has their own ways of preparing, but this was pretty reasonable in terms of gameplay. Not that you need preparing anyways.

My plan was a 2 week bootcamp of both… Halo reach to get used to the fast paced AA gameplay, and halo 3 to get used to the high jump mobility and sheild health system.

Im not gonna prepare at all for 2 reasons, one Ill be playing Borderlands 2 till it comes out, and two Im gonna beat campaign and play as much of the Spartan Ops thats been released before I play War Games. Thats all the preperation I need.

I’m not gonna prepare

Oh yes, I’m one of those guys :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah it’s tough for me to leave borderlands2.

I’m just going to play through the Campaign on Legendary like I always do, that should prepare me for multiplayer.

I’ve already seen this video and have been applying it to my preparations for H4. Except for going back to H3. I’ve had enough of that game to last a lifetime. Maybe like a week before release I will go back just to re up on my BR strafe/jump.

I have a feeling though that I will be DMR’n just to mess with all the people(90% of you <rough estimate) who will be using the BR.

Instant respawn will not save your corpse

That’s the best part. Besides, the Campaign gives me enough first experience.

Halo reach’s duck hunt

That is all

Eh.
The way I plan on preparing for Halo 4 is… playing Halo 4.
Play the campaign first, spartan ops second and a private match against a friend third.
Then dive into matchmaking.

I think Halo 3 would be the better game to prepare with, but Reach would be good, too.

Same.

I play games for fun, not sport

He makes some excellent points…
I’d like to think of Bravo as the Official Unofficial Halo 4 Ambassador…

I find the only use of preparing w/ Reach to be for the AAs and Sprint which both will behave differently from their Halo 4 counterparts so I don’t see spending the majority of the time in Reach to be all that useful. I’d recommend playing Reach w/ altered settings though that give it better movement, O% or 85% bloom, and no AL, JP, or BS (as far as we know).

Although those are important parts to the new Halo gameplay style, the most important thing is getting used to a fast-paced game again. In many ways, I’d almost recommend Halo 2 over Halo 3 b/c you gotta learn how to use that hitscan BR again, it’s got almost the same player movement/rugged vehicles as Halo 3, easy-to-use Sniper like in Reach, etc. I don’t know about everyone else, but I’m going into the H2V servers the week before Nov 6th.

Overall, there is no one game to go into b/c Halo 4 takes too much from both. The more you play the 2 games equally, the better balanced you will be heading into game. However, it also applies to what your style is. If you’re gonna be trying out the Infinity playlists day 1 then you should put a little more effort into Reach, or if you’re gonna dive straight into the classic playlists then you need to play Halo 3 to brush up on your classic Halo skills.

P.S. All in favor of making Bravo our Community Rep say, “aye”.

Well, I’m just going to play the Campaign, then move on to the first five missions of Spartan Ops, then go into Forge and mess around with the items, vehicles, and weapons, and then I guess I’ll tackle Matchmaking.

That’s all the preparation I need.

To be Honest my Veteran Halo Experience probably might be all i need to adapt, but at any rate i will play the campaign through, and the first week of spartan ops just to be sure, and help get my bearings with everything.

True, having much experience with halo can give you a good amount of edge.

I’ve been playing Halo since the day it came out and have adjusted quickly to every game since. I don’t think Halo 4 will be any different. When you game for a long time, eventually you just adapt on the fly to whatever game you’re playing. I’m sure many others feel the same way.

However, I have been playing Halo 3 quite a bit just to adjust to it since I agent played it in a while. Reach is way too slow for me to even bother, plus sprint doesn’t function the same at all in Halo 4.

Fast paced? Are you serious? Reach is bar-none the slowest Halo game ever. AA’s slow down gameplay as well, so I have no idea what you’re talking about and I suppose you don’t know what you’re talking about either.

I am going to prepare for Halo 4 by playing loads of Borderlands 2, Forza Horizon, and AC3, while sipping chocolate milk and snacking on chocolate covered pretzels.

This training regimen is not for the faint of heart.
