And also i know this is silly but is posting and making a topic the same thing? as i said, i’m a newbie
You can just copy/paste your video link, but it won’t be hyperlinked or you can click the chain link icon in the text box and then copy/paste your link there which will hyperlink it for you. I’m not sure if you have that chain link permission yet though, but you will get it once you level up your forum rank.

It can be explained with them not wanting to be viable for anything you see or hear that is user generated. So you can only link to such content and they can obviously not be held responsible for stuff hosted outside of Waypoint.
That is not possible with the current age requirement on Waypoint.

ok but that “user generated” thing is not official, so therefor it’s not their responsibility! they’re just a media and i’m sharing my “user generated” thing in here and that doesn’t make it their responsibility! it’s not rational!

Hosting it on their site would make it their problem unfortunately. Adding a small disclaimer could help, but I don’t think they will do that ever. As far as I can tell, only mods here can embed images or gifs directly in their posts and mods are assumed as trusted users.

To be fair, Microsoft has other things to be worried about; they don’t want to risk legal trouble from waypoint. The law is the law. You just have to open a new tab to see links, it’s a pretty good compromise IMO.

I know, but this is BASIC! like wtf! you can’t see videos on a site in 2020? why tf would anyone visit that site then? i mean this is the official and biggest halo dedicated site and has a lot of facilities! and we halo fans all come to it, but we can’t even upload a video?! i know that they care about the safety but they’re too much extreme imo
