So I know Johnsons strength lies in T3 Collosus Nightingale but what should I be doing T1? Should I just pump mass marines with my hero and turtle until T2 and get my first expo into Mantis or is there something else? And with Digging in would it be best to go 4 turret at base or 3 and watch tower or put a siege turret in there?
I’d suggest playing T1 as you described, but also getting nodes where you can. Additionally, when it comes to turrets it depends a lot on your base’s location and state of the game.
Pumping mass marines is a good strat for a bit. But if your facing a Cutter who’s doing the exact same thing. I wish you all the best. And may Arbiter be your guide.

Basically, I’ve played the campaign only + Awaken the Nightmare. What game mode should I try next. I’ll switch through leaders but if you have a favorite leader let me know why.
I usually play 3v3, so my comments are colored are colored by that experience…
T1 - mass marines, healing aura, bunker drop, preferably no leader or Nades - use a couple of snipes to help take nodes, T2 as fast as possible
T2 - get your mantis ball up ASAP, mantis shield, 2nd base, some Gales, leader, add wolverines against mass air. Mantis ball is money in the mid-game (balanced, but powerful).
Johnson also has a decent flamer rush on T1 - instead of bunk drop, go with pelican drop. I’ve never done - so I don’t know the build order, but seen it used effectively.
Leader is also pretty good option on T1 + bunker drop for pretty much offense and defense, but it delays your T2.

I’m really new and still learning so I’ve been doing 1v1 against AI mainly but 2v2 and 3v3 are re as ally fun if you’ve got a couple friends to play with.
As for favorite leader that’s kind of tough I don’t think there is a leader I don’t like in this game, but I love Johnson because MECHS and what’s not to love about a mantis/colossus army

When I first started I just chose the leaders that looked the coolest
