How to play Halo 5 local?

I’ve been trying to figure this out for awhile, first I got two different accounts on a PC and Xbox but both accounts said the other was offline, I repeated with both on two different PCs but once again could never connect since both accounts read the other as offline. I then found out about “Halo 5 Local Server” but that hasn’t been working at all. Can’t even seem to get the app to work since after launching it at the place where I put a name in, a default name seems to appear but when I click the arrow next to it nothing happens. I try changing the name and nothing happens either. How can I fix this and is there an easier way to do this?

First things first, I’m pretty sure you can’t play Halo 5 on PC. More specifically, Halo 5 online multiplayer on PC. You can play Halo 5 Forge on PC, though. That might be the problem right there.

So does that mean you have to use two Xbox Ones regardless?

What exactly are you trying to do? Set up a multiplayer match? (Team Slayer, for example).

Halo 5 forge on PC cannot connect to Halo 5 on Xbox one in any way what so ever for multiplayer. H5 forge on PC is only for map building really.

Yes. Two Xboxes to play H5 with each other or two PCs to play H5: Forge with each other. They are separate games.

Yep, I just wanted to do custom games locally, like have two people playing in the same house, since split screen is gone.

Well I have two PCs, but they don’t seem to be able to connect. I launched Halo 5 Forge on both with both using different accounts but they read the other as offline and I could get them both in a same game. Not sure why it said they were offline since they both obviously were on but because of I couldn’t send an invite and I could join the game with one.

Ah, then, yes. As others have mentioned above, Halo 5: Guardians isn’t available for PC. You will need to Xbox One’s.

Alrighty then, thanks for the information.

Trying to understand because I’m a bit unclear on what you said, were you able to send invites from one account to the other? And did that account receive the invite? Were you able to join using that invite?
