I don’t understand fully how to perform assassinations it is random event? Or there are specific steps to do it?
Specific steps. Keep the button pressed.
ya hold the melee button and it will happen, which animation it does (base or the one equipped) is random.
Hold the button while hitting from behind.
Step one: Make sure assassinations are enabled in your settings.
You have to be directly behind your opponent and instead of a normal melee, press and hold your melee buttom. It should instantly bring you into the assassination animation.

Which not only looks cool but is extremely satisfying!
Assassinations are second only to headshotting someone assassinating someone else in SWAT in terms of satisfaction.
Just make sure they dont have any close teammates or its an easy kill for them.

Another question, if you have assassination turned off, do you ever get an assassination medal? What I mean is, if you go thru the motion of assassinating, will it count even tho it doesn’t happen?
I find it weird to have a chosen assassination to perform and every time I assassinate, I do some default one.

No but you do get a beatdown medal

Yeah. I got a couple of beat downs and some brawlers.
The problem I have is assasinating people when I only want to back smack them (I know I could disable them)
Make sure you don’t have it disabled in your settings and then hold the melee button when you hit them in the back.
Can someone clarify how to correctly perform an AIRSASSINATION? I don’t know how many people were able to pull this off and obtain the medal but I know it’s possible cuz iSpiteful has received two of these medals. I’ve done this twice and saw the animation but it didn’t award me the medal. So I’m wondering do have to be in a certain playlist? Before you ask, I do have assassinations enabled.
Step one: What Snickerdoodle said. Step 2: Go into a game and find unsuspecting victim. Step 3: Hold RB(or your current melee button). Step 4: Profit.
Watch out for people who like to yoink you in assassinations, they can and will if they feel so.
Make sure you are not in a sprint when u press melee otherwise it will be a Spartan Charge to the spine!
