First, read THIS.
Most of us understand by now the new Multiplayer setting, Infinity. It has come to most of our attention that the Spartan player model will be the only one present. This being so, the amount of variety we will see in playing would go away.
That being said, many users who use Elites are devastated, and even those who only use Spartans are sad to see them go.
The solution to this, in my opinion, would be earn-able player models. In this system, the player would be able to purchase an Elite model, or other models of the enemies (or allies) in the game. In order for this to happen, the hitboxes and dimensions would have to be similar to that of Halo 3 so it’s balanced. The Elite, huge in size, would need to be scaled down by 80% for the heights to be similar.
Player investment would lead to the reward of unlocking these playable models, and could be offered for buying new DLC (maps, spartan ops missions, etc) for unlocking things in campaign or achievements (much like how to obtain most of the Halo 3 armor), or just enough credits/spartan points.
The armor could be Semi-customizable, and would be good for making machinimas or clan identity. The UNSC soldiers on the Infinity must be prepared to face the enemy on any front, right? Letting players control simulated enemies would enhance the gameplay 20 fold.
