So the other day I was thinking to myself, “Why is it that Super Fiesta didn’t manage to stay as a permanent playlist? I mean, people very clearly enjoy it, so why not keep it?” The same seemed to apply to Shotty Snipes and the other weekly playlists, but only Community Doubles made the transition. After looking at it for a bit, this is what I came up with to make the weekly playlist a way to increase community interaction and discussion with 343 regarding playlists and game modes.
The System
Imagine this: Every week there is a temporary playlist, much like we have now, except there is now a rotation. A rotation of what, you ask? Why, that is a fantastic question! You see, we would have two weeks where the weekly playlist is an interesting twist on a game mode that is already in a playlist. Then, every third week, we are given a game mode that we either don’t already have in a playlist or is an interesting new community made game mode. Then, in conjuction with the new game mode, there would be a ‘Weekly Playlist Feedback’ poll with the simple question “Keep game mode X, yes or no?” Then the community submits feedback on the game mode through this thread. This way, our suite of game modes can continue growing and 343 has another way in which they can gauge our preferences for future installments.
Anyways, I would seriously like to hear what everyone thinks about this plan. Any critiques or suggestions on ways to build upon this idea are welcome. I seriously want some type of system like this implemented, and the only way to get 343’s attention is to show them that it’s a solid plan that would be healthy for the growth of the community. Let’s make this game better for everyone.
