Remember the first Warzone trailer? That warzone trailer made it look like crap was falling out of the sky and REQs as well. But now we realize its just pvp when waves of AI that come and go every now and then. Sometimes players dont even go for the AIs because they have better chances leveling up against players. I thought if they brought back Warzone in Halo Infinite, at least make it as hectic as people imagined it would be.
My own idea would be to fit Warzone to Warzone Firefight. Because Warzone firefight is practically how people thought the AI would be like in Warzone. But if we combine both modes into one… that sounds like a Warzone mode I would like to fight in.
Though the stat changes would be that when you kill a player or small AI, it grants you small amounts of REQ points. Right now in Halo 5, REQs slows grow on their own and only give you an extra point through leveling up. And since people mainly like to level up with killing players, I thought it would be to only leveling up and gain xp by killing warzone bosses. It would make those goals an actual goal to go take. However, they would need to be more frequent.
I also thought that if AI enemies would fall out into the middle of the battle, we should make bases become more active. Im not talking about turrets or forcefields, im talking about marines actually goings out and fighting. The bigger the base, the more marines. Including the fact that they can enter your vehicles too because we know players don’t like being in warthogs.
But yeah. Thats my idea.
I would have liked to see the Grunt Goblin added to WZ. All the other bosses just stand still. The GG would wreck some havoc at least.
Honestly, to me to make warzone more like a warzone is to scape it and put a greater focus on BTB which got completely kicked to the crub in Halo 5. You could have huge BTB maps with tons of vehicles, weapons and what not on them. You could even upping the player count to 12-12 even. BTB already had that “warzone” feeling I think, especially the BTB heavies playlist. I think all the components are there in BTB already to make it even bigger and more chaotic! I don’t feel there is anyway to make warzone “fair” or “balance” at all. Just focus on BTB and firefght in Halo 6 and to me warzone becomes completely irrelevant for most people. Just my thoughts.
Some guy had an idea where it’s Invasion, but you’re defending a Scarab instead of a core. They should do that instead, Warzone sucks.
I also thought it would be interesting if everybody started with the same reqs. Like if everyone gets one sniper, one tank, one warthog, one ghost, etc, and the only thing limiting you beyond that is your req level in any particular game. That would make it less of a crapshoot in terms of one guy’s got a hannibal wasp and another has only a couple gungeese.

I think the only change I would like to see, would be AI occasionally swarming the middle base, and attempting to turn it’s capture status to neutral. I would also like to see some sort of a flag capture event or bomb plant event occur during matches as well.
The changes you’re proposing to building req points is essentially how warzone worked at launch. It’s been changed and nerfed to its current state to lower the percentage of games that end with a blowout victory.
