Lower the REQ level. By REQ 8, everyone whips out the Energy Bayonet. The AR’s Knight Blade should be REQ 4, the BR’s at REQ 5, and the DMR’s at REQ 6.

Increase its strength. Only a slight increase of damage. Just enough that combining it with the Increased Strength armor mod would result in the same damage as a base Bayonet with no boosts. This would also make the Increased Strength armor mod useful. This combo would be easily countered with Upgraded Shields in the same way it counters base Bayonets.

Increase vehicle board melee damage. The main reason no one uses this is that vehicles are normally too fast to properly melee without boarding. Why waste your time (and your spawn) trying to melee a vehicle when you can easily board and plant a grenade? Of course, planting grenades would still be the most effective way to destroy vehicles up close, but having a mechanic where your character slashes the vehicle with their Knight Blade would reduce the time you’d spend punching the vehicle to death, which means you not being out in the open for so long.
The only potential problem I see is the Increased Strength combo. But wouldn’t that do the armor mod justice for being a Legendary? Plus, since Increased Strength is REQ 5, the combo would only be effective for one REQ level until it’s made useless by Upgraded Shield counters.
Agreed, Knight blade is underpowered for being a top tier req
Just reduce its lvl, it already has a melee buff.
They should make it so that you can latch on to a vehicle and start knight blading it to death. Similar to how one can straddle and board a mantis. The animation would be a quicktime event much like an assassination.

I could so see a spartan with a knight blade taking down a mantis from behind. Maybe they could first slash through both the legs, then climb up onto the main component where they stab the mantis a few times until it falls down and explodes. That would make the knight blade so worth using.
It definitely needs to be reduced for the damage output it gives. I mean if the bayonet is more powerful everyone should just use that, the blade is pretty useless.
Or make it actually deadly to vehicles rather than saying it yet doing absolute garbage. It should be a top tier req but it isn’t made to do what is says that it does.
What about vehicle assassinations. Gives you a choice to disable vehicle. For a scorpion, cutting off tread and sticking it in the turret, wrapping back and scorpion explodes. Or you slash a ghosts wings off.

the buff is 50% (so around half their second shield bar,) so it will still take two melee’s to take them out at full health, and the increased strength doesnt really do anything to it.
It’s useless when it finally becomes available. Lower the req level
I believe the Knight Blade should be able to take down bosses easier for being so high up the REQ as well as taking down Vehicles. if they do not take down the REQ level then at lest boots it for more damage make it worth the level it is.
I find it’s good if you want headshots. Hit them with the blade the shoot them in the head. The blade will knock their shields out making it an easy headshot.
