This is just an idea, I don’t expect 343i to change PV in result of this thread. But hey, I just thought this idea should be shared and see how other people might like it.
Instead of using PV for a few seconds at a time, just send out one red pulse to see through walls to know the exact position of your enemies, but not the pattern of their movement. I think this would be a much more balanced approach to this armor ability.
I agree. That’s the idea I’ve been trying to get out. It just sends pulses out and feeds the data back to the Spartan of what everything was like at that EXACT moment. It’s like other people have been frozen, but haven’t. If you know what I mean.
Seems to me that, as it stands, PV is pretty balanced. The benefit/trade-off ratio is no doubt being tested…why don’t we wait till we can actually play the game before we start hypothesizing as to how and make it better?
The bulk of it’s functionality is already covered by an innate trait available to all players: Motion Tracker.
All PV has going for it is a few benefits that give it an edge in a few particular areas over MT: Extended range, see equipped Power Weapons, see crouching players.
The fact that it can see through walls is inconsequential given the fact that MT already lets you “see” through walls.

Exactly. I’ll never be using PV as the MT already makes it mostly redundant.
I think its pretty good as it is now. Im sure there is a counter AA that is in the game. So theres the balance right there. I really cant wait for this game to come out. Ive been playing halo 3 and reach and been getting bored with it so i end up watching and rewatching halo 4 gameplay.

Forgot that it only lets you see through walls in your vision cone.
