How to make Halo Infinite controls feel more responsive and less sluggish

This post is only for those that want the game to have a fast response and twitch shooter feel.

For those that like the thicker, slower feeling that default gives this post isnt for you but I hope youre enjoying the game all the same.

This are the things you want to change before messing with your sensitivity and aim accelerations. Once you’ve done this THEN go change the sensitivities to your preference. Since doing these settings I’ve found the movement of my spartan to be FAR more fluid and less chunky boots stuck in the mud feeling. The settings with the 2 setting will vary dependant on your drift the lower the more drift youll have. set it one setting above starting to get drift and you’ll be fine!

Settings

Movement Stick

Center dead zone - 2

Max input threshold - 10 - THE HIGHER THE MORE RESPONSIVE AND FASTER YOU’RE STICKS WILL BE.

Axial Deadzone - 2

Look thumbstick;

Center deadzone - 2

Max input threshold - 13.5 (adjust to preference) THE HIGHER THE MORE RESPONSIVE AND FASTER YOU’RE STICKS WILL BE.

Axial dead zone - 2

Leave a comment to see how you liked it and what you did to tweak it for your preferences to help someone else out who may prefer your settings.

There’s no settings that will make this game feel good or responsive enough. It feels like -Yoink!-. I can’t even turn around with the fastest settings on. It’s all slow

did you even try the settings?

Since I changed to them im playing with 6 sens and 3 acceleration perfectly fine. Before that it was slow and sluggish as hell.

Your settings are a lot slower than mine, and even mine are way too slow. They need to raise the sensitivity cap.

Well if you’ve changed your deadzones and are still finding it not sensitive enough then thats just insane becase mine is highly sensitive since doing them.

What settings are you running then so I can test it? Post them here.

Try M&K. Feels great on PC.

Id refer yout to go read the description. But the Thresholds with higher values reduces slow turn. It says so in the game it self. That mixed with the lower values of the deadzone = Increased speed and responsiveness. So infact, the higher those middle values are the better. Lowering it will increase the acceleration curve and slowing turning down

Please read the descriptions for your self and see.

I think that’s an honest misunderstanding of the word “sensitivity.” The sensitivity I’m talking about is literally the settings named “LOOK SENSITIVITY: HORIZONTAL” and “LOOK SENSITIVITY: VERTICAL.” I am not referring to deadzones at all

Yeah I’ve no doubt mnk feels great. But I don’t play shooters on PC, Like many others. That’s also not a solution. The problems will still exist for others who won’t or can’t switch.

You can plug a MnK up to the Xbox.

Thats for deadzones. The lower ones are better on the deadzones… There are three options for each stick. Please stop spreading misinformation as the Max input threshold reduces slow turn with a HIGHER value.

Man please stop being ignorant to what Im saying here. ADJUSTING the deadzones and the INPUT THRESHOLD SETTINGS, make the SENSISTIVTY SETTINGS much FASTER!

I made this post to help but people are just being dense at this point.

If you really have adjusted the settings I’ve said and its still not enough then I can understand how spasticy you must need your aiming camera. It’s a bit overkill but I imagine with enough concerns voiced about it 343 will add in some higher values eventually.

I understand what you’re saying, and in a gimmicky way it does make the aiming more responsive. But from a technical point of view, none of that can make the sensitivity faster and further, it’s a piss poor substitute for a properly wide range of sensitivity that goes high as well as low. We should never feel the need to employ the use of non-sensitivity settings to try and make the sensitivity faster.

I can’t believe they limited the settings in the way they did. And made some uncomfortable custom made sensitivity curve that feels strange, and no settings to adjust it. That all of this would be acceptable to millions of players in 2021 and later. That’s not good enough anymore and frankly I think game developers don’t respect console players as much as they should. Just look at the stunning difference in aiming settings when comparing mouse and key input to controller input. Why would they choose to limit controller sensitivity like they did, but give mouse input vastly better sensitivity settings and think this is okay for a competitive crossplay shooter

Hopefully they address it properly. I’d like to play contorller as effectively as I can while I transition to my M&KB. Ive always played controller even on my PC’s just because I grew up on consoles and I never really played MP with M&KB because I suck haha. But im determined to play this one with both inputs.

Lets hope for that day 1 patch bringing some updates based on feedback!
