How to make Halo enemies better

I like to think of the possibilities in campaign of how equipment and armor abilities could be used to stop a spartan.

Spartan charging at you, little grunt? Drop a deployable cover and watch him smash into it. It’ll slow him down and you can escape to safety!
Spartan able to run forever? Laugh as she runs over a trip mine!
Spartan about to ground pound? Bubble shield!!
Sap the spartan’s shields and thrusters with the power drain. Restore your own shields with regen field. Blind him with flare!
Destroy his motion tracker and ability to call for help/give commands/find allies in need of assistance with radar jammer!

If the equipment isn’t enough to stop the spartan onslaught, try armor abilities. Overshield yourself, bring in a Huragok to overshield your overshield and repair your vehicle. Jump jet your way to high ground and rain plasma death on them as they clamber after you.

Seriously, encounters with the enemy would be a lot more fun if they had their own tricks up their sleeves. Promethean still have a few tricks, but the Covenant don’t. Sometimes, I wish the knights would teleport to safety and the elites would armor lock to save their skins from death. The Prometheans need to deploy their shock chains and auto sentries. The Covenant need to deploy their needler proximity homing mines.

The Covenant that used these abilities successfully destroyed Reach and succeeded in defeating 5 spartans (at least). Now they can’t handle 4, or 1!

What new/old techniques would you recommend to the Prometheans/Covenant to stop a spartan fire team?

I can already see the complaints of armour lock appearing from the people who remember Reach.

Legendary in halo is hard enough , but now you’re suggesting ways of how to remove any possible chance of surviving!?Imagine trying to charge at an elite to stun him while you kill him with your shotgun but suddenly a drop shield blocks you and the elite sidesteps and kills you in 0.00000001 seconds with a burst from his storm rifle!Atleast the bubble shield wouldn’t work because it doesn’t stop movement but these are all horrible to even think about.
Halo 6 now with unkillable super-troll enemies and grunts that can actually kill.

No.No to all of this.

So basically, make the enemy encounters either completely contrived or stagnant…

Make them not stand in one place when they see you and are getting shot. Swear CE enemies were smarter than what we’ve have had since H2…

Only Warden Eternal is ridiculous on Halo 5’s Legendary. Besides, you have 3 spartans that can revive you for every other encounter. When fighting the Covenant, you just need magnum/dmr/battle rifle/carbine and you win easily every time. You die only when you run into the middle of their army.

Prometheans are tougher because the crawlers will go after you, the watchers will hit you from above, and their weapons have tracking or mortar capabilities so good cover is harder to come by.

What I’m suggesting will help break up the various battles into more memorable fights, or at least give enemies (especially covenant) a chance to counter all the spartan abilities.

I like these ideas.
