How to make Halo 6 the best Halo yet

Unlocks:

Halo 5’s RNG (req pack) unlock system for armor, assassinations, skins, etc annoyed many people who prefer to earn their unlocks through methods such as ranking up and/or completing achievements. Therefore, for Halo 6 I propose the following unlock system:

With the exception of Warzone exclusive items, once an item is unlocked it will have to be purchased using req points (kind of like Halo Reach’s system).

Armor: Armor in Halo 6 would be unlocked in sets through ranking up (through Spartan Rank). These sets would include the helmet, shoulders, chest, forearms, and legs.

Visors: Visors will be unlocked through ranking up as well.

Weapon Skins: Weapon skins will be unlocked by completing certain milestones pertaining to the specific weapon. For example, in order to unlock a certain skin for the Battle Rifle you would need to get X amount of kills, headshots, or perfect kills.

Assassination Animations: Assassination animations would be unlocked by getting a certain amount of assassinations.

Stances: Stances would be unlocked by completing certain achievements such as beating the campaign.

Armor Effects (Including Thruster Pack customizations): Armor effects would be unlocked by completing a certain amount of multiplayer games.

Emblems: Emblems would be unlocked from the start as in earlier Halo games.

Warzone Unlocks: All Warzone unlocks, including permanent unlocks (loadouts and armor mods) and one time unlocks (power ups, power weapons and vehicles) would still be acquisitioned through a RNG requisition pack system (as in Halo 5). Req packs would be purchased using req points.

Req Points/XP:

Req points will be tied to xp points. For example, following a multiplayer match of Halo 6, if a player got 1,200 xp points they would get 1,200 req points.

Req and xp points would be obtained from playing matches of multiplayer, customs, forge, campaign, or any other mode. Completing a campaign level, for example, would give you points based on the difficulty you played on. Completing multiplayer games would obviously give points too (boosts would be given to players who join in progress or loose players on their team). Forge and Customs would yield marginal amounts of points as well. Hopefully, 343i will have double point weekends as well.

Multiplayer Gametypes:

Halo 5 continues to suffer from a lack of gametypes (such as infection, assault, etc). Halo 6 should have an abundance of gametypes including the ones mentioned above. The multiplayer experience will be split into 3 sections: Warzone, Arena, and Social.

Warzone: Warzone would have multiple gametypes including Traditional Warzone and Warzone Assault. Another mode could include a PVE mode like firefight.

Arena: Arena would include Team Arena (with Slayer and Objective Gametypes, but no Breakout), Team Slayer, Team Objective, Breakout, Free For All, Team Doubles, Multi Team, and Swat.

Social: Social would include Big Team Battle, Infection, Griffball, Fiesta, Invasion, and Weekend Social (like in Halo 5).

Social and Warzone would not keep track of win/loss or kda ratio.

Campaign:

The campaign of Halo 5 was unappealing to many people, including myself. Hopefully, Halo 6 will capture the grandeur of the previous Halo campaigns while building on Halo 5’s relatively interesting path. Maybe Halo 6’s campaign could be open world. Regardless, the campaign needs replayability.

Forge:

Halo 6 need to build off Halo 5’s forge. I would love to be able to forge in Warzone. The ability to spawn ai in maps would revolutionize the Halo experience for myself and many others. It would also be nice to have different control schemes for forge.

UI:

Halo 5’s UI has very many issues such as a terrible lobby system and lack off post game stats. For Halo 6’s UI I propose the following:

Lobby: The Halo 6 lobby system should be very similar to Halo Reach. It should show a players gamertag, spartan tag, armor, stance, etc. It should also have the option to mute players, switch between party and game chat, see a players service record, open a players Xbox live profile. Players would also remain in a lobby after the game unless they choose to leave. Players would be replaced by someone new when they leave.

Posts Game Stats: The post game screen would show the MVP in addition to info such as who you killed the most and who killed you the most. It would also show your weapon of destruction. Another section would show each player’s amount of kills, deaths, assists, and objective points (such as flag captures). Another section would include the medal screen showing what medals were earned.

Home screen: Upon opening the game and closing out of the daily announcements, the player would go to the home screen. It would be awesome if the home screen was interactive (like in Black Ops). The home screen would be like in previous games, however, if the player held both the left and right trigger on the home screen, they would exit a cryo tube and would be able to walk around the Infinity’s command center as depicted in Halo 4. This would be a great place to put in terminals with background info to catch new players up on the events of the Halo series. The player would be able to access certain modes (such as the campaign or multiplayer) via computer monitors located at the front end of the command center. In order to go back to the 2D menu, the player would once again hold the right and left trigger.

Announcements: Announcements would be the same as in Halo 5 but would have an option to not show again for the rest of the day.

Shortcuts: There would also be Shortcuts to Waypoint and/or the Halo Channel (which could even be built into the game).

In Game UI: Halo 6’s in game UI can be the same as in Halo 5.

Gameplay:

Halo 5, despite its faults, has great gameplay balance. There are relatively few changes I would make. Here are the changes I would make:

Spartan Abilities:

Ground Pound: I would leave as is.
Clamber: I would like keep as is.
Stabilizer: I would keep as is.
Thrust: I would keep as is.
Slide: I would keep as is (but would get rid of thrust slide).
Spartan Charge: I would get rid of this in favor of a slight increase in lunge when trying to melee while sprinting.
Sprint: I would keep sprint fairly similar to Halo 5’s sprint mechanism. However, instead of the shield recharge timer resetting, it would start going up at about the same rate as it goes down. The brackets on either side of the spartan would also be replaced with the reticle of the weapon being held (since there would be no more Spartan Charge).

Weapon Balance:

Halo 5 has great weapon balance. I dare say I would keep it as is. Every weapon is relevant (except for the stupid plasma caster and weak spartan laser).

Grenade Balance:

Slight Nerf to plasma and frag grenades.

Vehicle Balance:

I like the shield on the banshee. I think the Phaeton and other aerial vehicles should get a similar shield. It makes air vehicles more relevant against scorpions. As for land vehicles, the physics of the vehicles need to be improved. I shouldn’t be splattered so easily nor should my vehicle flip every second. Otherwise vehicles are fine.

Post what you think Halo 6 should include and let’s get 343i working on this.

Reserved

  • more marines, bring back stacker and chips! - more gritty texture, less shiny and more battered and scratched - Less armor skins, more attachments - make vehicles less bulky, previous titles made vehicles look slimmer and have better overall control - just make it more like Reach in terms of style and design, taking a page out of the old Bungie handbook will not give you cancer. - more building pieces like in previous titles, such as bunkers and whatnot.

Nice ideas!

I think they should keep most of what we have in Halo 5 relatively the same but just add, improve, and vary stuff. Basically don’t waste much time changing the core gameplay from what we have but focus on making sure there are tons of things to do, new and old stuff.

I stopped at how you wanted armor to unlock, that is stupid, I would like it if they went back to earning armor by doing some sort of achievement. Like my Helioskrill, which you have to beat all MCC on Legendary.

Damn you wrote a lot of stuff but i agree with the mayor part.
