How to make halo 5 fun 1 Last time

Halo 5 is becoming stale to many, its dying, the popution is dropping. How can they keep halos FPS title alive for another year or 2 or keep it alive till they can release news for halo 6. Well this is what I think they can do, release 1 final big update that will make the game spring alive (in a perfect world, this will most likely not happen)

  • oddball permanent
    -king of the hill permanent
  • community made 4v4 maps make its way into slayer, team arena and team skirmish playlists.
  • castle wars becomes apart of action sack
  • New arena map (no remix)
    -New Warzone map (no remix)
-mythic shotty snipers, triple team and snipers become permanent
    -New reqs to unlock
    -New forge blocks and items
    -New forge canvas
-have rotational playlists like mythic shotty snipers, rock n rail, mythic grifball (keep things fresh)
  • add challenges (hourly, daily, weekly, monthly)
-come out with 3 all time favorite classic halo armour and make them unlockable by completing a really hard challenge (keep people aiming for something)
-classic mode, classic maps, no armour abilities, AR, CE starts
  • Fix theater

thats just the perfect world update that I think will revive halo and make it fun till halo 6 comes out. (Yeah i know i know adding all these playlist will split the community making it become longer wait times to find matches but, its either this or halo 5 loses its community)

It’s like… as if the game was getting old or something.

Well i know that lol I was just pointing out the obvious trying to setup a backup to the remainder of the post

The population was gonna drop sooner or later the game is almost 2 years old and they haven’t released an update in a while

Some of these things would be really nice, especially “fix theater”. However, would it really be wise for 343 to put so much effort into keeping Halo 5 alive until Halo 6? Because if people get bored of Halo 5, I don’t think that will stop them from getting Halo 6. Put another way, how much does Halo 5’s current population really have to do with how many people will get Halo 6?

There are many video game franchises where regular installments happen unpredictably and infrequently, and people still end up getting the newer ones. Here’s how it works for them: people play the latest game in franchise A until they’re done with it, then maybe try playing a game in franchise B. But in the meantime, those people are still thinking “I wonder when the next game in franchise A will be announced, it would be really cool if we got another one someday”.

But in this Halo community, I see people saying things like “if Halo 6 doesn’t happen soon, it will be a disaster!” And now here you are, telling us that it’s necessary for Halo 5 to maintain a stable population until Halo 6. But why even make that assumption? Why can’t people just relax and let Halo 6 happen whenever? Nobody ever says “Nintendo had better give us the next Zelda game before 2020 because Breath of the Wild’s population is dying!” Because they know people will still get the next one, even if everybody is finished playing the current one. And yes I do realize Halo 5 ended with a cliffhanger but we know we’ll see what happens eventually.

This community seems to be infatuated with the idea of another content update. I don’t think Halo 5 needs it, it’s not like a handful of changes will fix all of Halo 5’s issues.

343 need to focus entirely on Halo 6, except for the occasional playlist update.

Honestly, some of the stuff you listed are better off being adding into Halo 6. I want 343i to address bug & issues to this game as there are bunch of bugs in this game (e.g game freezing when someone leaves, menu freezing, etc…) but what you listed may bring some people back to Halo 5.

Would be very nice but o don’t have much hope

If Mercy didn’t get played twice every 5 matches… it’s not like leveling out the map rotation is even a difficult fix. It’s been almost a full year since Mercy was released and it’s STILL weighted as a new map! It’s getting laughable at this point…how was this not addressed months ago?!

This small fix ALONE would go a LONG way. A handful of 4v4 Forge maps being added to the list and weighted PROPERLY would also be a welcome addition. Just SOMETHING!

Why do you assume the population is dropping? It holds a pretty steady place on Xbox most played list. Population may not be massive but it seems to be steady.

H5’s content update updates aren’t going to save the game, it’s not been great for a while. If they want to get me more interested in then they need to make BTB AAA quality maps since tired of seeing nothing but forge maps since rather avoid normal Warzone due it being an unbalanced mess. As for forge…I don’t see much point in adding more content since I still can’t stand going anywhere near H5’s forge since it’s not fun to use, has way too much restrictions. The daily/weekly challenges might help but we kind of got that with daily wins, even then that doesn’t motive me to come online as much.

I’m not sure we will see anything to much in new content. It really revolves around when H6 comes out. They may have a few tricks up there sleeves for H5 but really they need all hands on deck for H6. While H5 may seem stale it is an old game now or at least has some time under its belt. As for the population of H5 I would say its steady but yet far from what Halo use to be. But I still run across new players so that’s always a plus.

Nice wish list but I don’t see it happening. Maybe we’ll get some good news from RTX.

  • oddball permanent - YES PLEASE. My second favorite gametype.
-king of the hill permanent - Sure. Probably just throw this and Oddball into Arena / Skirmish, and drop Slayer from that list.
  • community made 4v4 maps make its way into slayer, team arena and team skirmish playlists. - Ok with me!
  • castle wars becomes apart of action sack - It was surprisingly popular (I wasn’t a huge fan). Completely agree, add it!
  • New arena map (no remix) - Always helps.
-New Warzone map (no remix) - ""
-mythic shotty snipers, triple team and snipers become permanent - Not sure about this… more playlists, less players populating each, further dividing the community…
-New reqs to unlock - Definitely. Though somewhat pointless for long-time players who just have ludicrous amounts of RP to spend at this point and would get it all on day one.
-New forge blocks and items - I don’t Forge anymore, but trust your judgment!
    -New forge canvas - ""
-have rotational playlists like mythic shotty snipers, rock n rail, mythic grifball (keep things fresh) - Don’t they kind of do this already with the playlist that’s now Oddball?
  • add challenges (hourly, daily, weekly, monthly) - Wasn’t intense enough to do these in Reach, would LOOOOVVVEEE to see them implemented in Halo 5.
-come out with 3 all time favorite classic halo armour and make them unlockable by completing a really hard challenge (keep people aiming for something). I’d be in!
-classic mode, classic maps, no armour abilities, AR, CE starts - This should definitely be a thing based on how excited everyone was about the CE update, and we all had a blast playing it.
  • Fix theater - It’s broken? ; )

I’ve also suggested, several times, campaign DLC. Do a three-level arc that functions as a prequel to Halo 5’s story. Focus on Blue Team and filling in the gaps with them in the events between Halo 4 and 5. Imagine the hype if you put “The Chief is Back!” on the Xbox dashboard. Add all of the above, or even some of that to it, and it’s a recipe for people to get back into Halo 5, particularly with Games Pass now offering it as well.

We need more people to think like this lol

Actually I think it’s just the opposite. Adding that many permanent playlists to what’s already there would lower the quality of matchmaking; you’d not only see longer wait times due to decreased population per playlist, but also less fair matches. That kind of playlist diversity would have been great when Halo 5 launched, but now? I think Halo 5 needs to maintain the quality of its matchmaking over adding more variety, because the people who are still playing do it because they enjoy what’s there already. Maybe adding those playlists would bump up the population for a few days, but in the long run, I think it would hurt the game rather than save it.

That’s probably the reason why they are still doing the rotating featured playlist. By rotating a featured gametype, they never permanently decrease the player-to-playlist ratio.

I like all of these! Except for maybe the Community 4v4 maps…

Let us fully customize each piece of armor. It seems like a small change, but it would go a long way for making our experience feel more unique again.

Yes, it is slow and annoying to use, and same goes with spectator mode.

If they gave split screen and the ability to make hostile and non-hostile NPC’s on forge. And to give out a choice of any armor and helmet set you want. BUT ONLY 1 SET.
