Now i’m sure many of you will agree that the halo 4 experience wasn’t exactly what you were expecting. Hell, i could blow away my whole spring break in one big halo binge with halo 2 and 3 and still feel the desire to burn away countless more hours into chipping away at finally reaching the glorious 50 ranking. There was just never a dull moment going in with your 3 closest xbox buddies having it out with another team of skilled players to see who gets to rank up and who gets to rank down. It made halo incredibly exciting. But the real selling point that made this game so much different than reach for me wasn’t the AA’s, but the fact that there was so much diversity in the ranking playlists. If I was ever feeling like the king of snipes and felt like i could pop domes all day i could put on some snipes and actually have something to work at (50) and that applied to such a wide variety of play styles ( team objectives, DOUBLES, lone wolves ranked big team, squad battle, swat) sure some of these playlists sucked but it didn’t matter because there was SOMETHING FOR EVERYBODY. whether you feel like playing ranked or social you could do so and have a great time doing it. Imagine how bad halo 3 would have sucked if there were only social playlists. sure it would be fun running around pwnin noobs all day but the next morning if you wanna play all day again you’re just going to end up doing the same -Yoink- all day long. There’s just no excitement to that.
Sure there may be a lot of people arguing over what is best for this game and the casual players getting worked up about all the changes the competitive players are demanding so regularly on these forms when the solution is so simple, Let there be something for everybody.

Fix the custom game options because custom gamers are actually a very large part of this community. The greatest part about custom games in previous titles was the fact that you could do it your way. i for one have many memories of getting 16 people in my custom games lobby and playing all kinds of ridiculous games like fat kid, duck hunt, and let no one forget how much mongoose races could be. There is just no way this is some huge obstactle for 343. i’m no developer but adding a few options to customs can’t be too incredibly difficult.

Matchmaking: all i ask is a playlist to play where there isn’t a boltshot waiting around every corner. I’m not saying take it out of the game. ordnance drops, AA’s, aim assist, and many more things “competitive players” so actively -Yoink- about make this game fun for the casual players. and If it helps the halo community i’m all for it. but for gods sake give me a place to go to get away from the noobs. just a classic slayer playlist. static weapon spawns, forced map control and strategy to avoid getting owned, no AA’s, just the classic, incredible halo experience that i have been missing since halo 3. And when i feel like getting 20-30 kills a game, I’ll go back to owning noobs in casual playlists. just like i did in social matches back in H3.
IN CASE YOU DON’T WANT TO SPEND ALL DAY READING THAT^^^
My solution on how to bring competitive players, custom gamers, and maybe even some casual players back:
Bring back custom games options. they shouldn’t have been removed in the first place. i dont think anyone will argue with this one
Leave all the casual playlists up with the power weapons AA’s and ordnance drops
Give us competitive players a playlist that isn’t slayer pro. it’s not what we wanted. replace this playlist with a new one with static weapon spawns and everything else that used to be halo. And it definitely couldn’t hurt to throw in some forge maps from time to time! this community has proven to be extremely consistent with one thing and thats feedback. if people think the map sucks take it out. it’s that simple
this is all that needs to be done to keep everyone happy until ranked playlists come out.
Specializations and crimson map pack may be a problem but it’s not 343s problem. let Microsoft deal with them.
Please don’t flame me for writing this novel on the forums. No one’s making you read it. this is mostly for 343 to read. and these requests are very reasonable.
I’ve put and incredible amount of time into the halo franchise and my voice deserves to be heard along with all of the other faithful halo fanboys. if you support or disagree to what i have to say feel free to leave a comment. Thanks for reading.
