How to make a variety of good 4v4 maps

In my opinion, every 4v4 map should have a similar playable area. By that I mean the area you can explore. If its a 4v4 vehicle map then sure, you can increase the playable area but dont make it playable without vehicles and expect it to still work.

So what can you do with a consistent playable area? Anything really. You could make 5 small islands connected with man cannons and teleporters, you can put the playable area into any shape of map you want. People think the pit is a big map, its not. its a donut with the middle blocking sight and movement. The classic maps all stand out because they have unique shapes with a similar play area.

A big map can feel small and vice versa so its not just about where you can move but where you can shoot. This means the pit feels even smaller than infinites launch maps because the pit has more open areas. It will be interesting to see where the pit ranks among the community.
