How to make a fun game for casual gamers, 343

Here is now you make a fun game for the casual gamer masses, 343:

  • Remove any presence of “skill gap”. Casual gamers don’t have countless hours of free time to practice playing a video game just to have fun. - Focus on FUN. - Make things MORE accessible to gamers, NOT less.I use Star Wars Battlefront as an example of a game that is geared towards allowing casual gamers to have fun:

Which Starwars Battle Front?

the old one or the one that looks and plays like a heavily modded version of Battlefield?

Skillgaps are needed, I would suggest to add a Social Playlist in Halo 5 like we had in Halo 3.

you can play a competitive game casually but you cant play a casual game competitively

h3 being the perfect example

not that i think h5 is good or competitive but yeah not the point.

  1. Remove the skill gap: We have to remember that 343 gets hard over the idea of esports, so it is hard to imagine them doing this for casuals. However, the aim is -Yoinked!- up so they should fix that, effectively removing some of the skill gap between players who can tolerate that -Yoink- and players who can’t.

  2. Add a social playlist: Why there wasn’t a casual playlist at start is mind boggling to me? No forge, stripped down customs, crappy aim mechanics that in themselves are enough to turn away casual players. And th only social option is warzone?! Throw in some action sack, BTB, or infection.

  3. Add modes to customs: No infection in customs?!? Is 343 tryinf to kill Halo? I know there’s no forge at release, but people still want to play infection (not flood though, flood sucks).

Yea but H3 had things like action sack, great customs, grifball, and forge. H5 has none of that. As of now, H5 lacks amy semblance of casual gaming besides campaign and warzone, not nearly enough.

Thanks for the great comments. I think you all have some excellent ideas that would encourage a casual gamer like me to stick around HALO5 a little longer.

At the moment though, HALO5 isn’t much fun for a casual gamer like me when both human players and AI Marines are headshotting me all the time.
