I’m not sure if anyone knew this but i was going into custom games to take some -Yoink!- photos of my spartan and was trying to figure out how to lower my weapon.
After literally 1 minute i found out how :D.
All you need to do is press and HOLD them down in order
A + X + Down Dpad + RightStick
I’m pretty sure it works online 
Cool thing is you dont have to be fast you can press a then wait 30 minutes then x and so on it will still lower you cant let go of the buttons tho once you do it disables it.

Sad it’s not completely fixed yet, but sounds fun!
thanks for the info. I hate getting shot at from the spot my gun covers up. now I can be even more alert!
EDIT since playing with it Ive noticed that the light rifle has a weird glitch if you change to it while weapon is lowered. other weapons will probably suffer the same. could use fixing
boltshot as well
It has the potential to be the right combination in future updates at least
A+X+ dpad up brings up some kind of coordinate system or I have no clue what. shooting makes it jump around so im a little confused
A+LB+Down Dpad+Right Stick for Recon. Literally just switching the X to LB… still sad that it actually doesn’t lower your weapon.

Wondering if 343 will actually fix it so we do have a lowered weapon visible. This is important for machinima making… Maybe with the Forge update?

Actually, you don’t even need the Right Stick. Just A + X + Down DPAD

That’s for something in theatre where you can change the speed of the camera. People just use it to glitch out of the map tho 
Okay so when you want to lower your weapon, you know that thing that we use in machinima you don’t have a gun. This is irritating and stupid. Why can’t 343 just make basic things work…

It has to since there’s no system link or splitscreen. How else would we make machinima?

The actual way is to hold A, B, X and d-pad DOWN (all at once), wait for your Spartan to thrust and jump, wait for your weapon to disappear from the screen, and there you go. It’s just like weapon lowering in Halo 4, but it stays down until you shoot or melee (i think. 95% sure,).
