So I’ve been playing Halo all my life and have finished the games a few times on legendary and yet all of a sudden I’m getting my -Yoink- handed to me by hunters on Halo 3 ODST. Seriously. How the hell do you kill these -Yoinks!-? On Halo 1 a pistol will get them in 1 hit as everyone knows, but even without they’re easy as hell. In Halo 2 they’re easy and predictable and 2 shots with a snipe takes em out. In Halo 3… uh, is there any tactic? In ODST it seems a random chance whether a melee attack kills you in one hit or notand it’s infuriating how random that is. The hitboxes are also bullcrap. They’ll hit you from miles away when it makes no damn sense. You can’t even get behind the goddman ones with the fuel rod cannons because they’re too smart so shooting a weak spot is impossible.
How in the actual -Yoink- -Yoinking!- christ are you supposed to kill these -Yoink- sucking mother -Yoinking!- -Yoink- licking -Yoink- flappers?
When I play Halo, as much as I can, I stick to using one head-shot-capable weapon as my primary, saving a more powerful one for emergencies.
For ODST, as I recall, I mostly plug the Hunters with everything I can while evading them by jumping off of ledges when they get close (making them go the long way around to get back to me). But honestly, that’s the console Halo game I played the least so I didn’t much time building strategy.

If you aren’t playing Heroic or harder Halo without head shot capable weapons, you aren’t playing it properly

I don’t remember off hand how much damage ODST Hunters soak. Can you take down a pair if you have a Bruteshot as your secondary? You might have to risk making them take a swing at you to create an opening for the shots to deal maximum damage.

I managed to get a couple shots off in the back with it but I couldn’t tell how effective it was. If I get another opportunity, I’ll test. Thanks for the advice.

In ODST you have to chip away at the hunters bit by bit. Unless of course you have a splaser or SPNKR. Just remember the oldest tip of advise on hunters, shoot their back!
While on the subject, anyone got any tips for the Halo 5 Hunters? I try to use a Rail Gun when possible, is there a better way other than getting a tank?

Here is some advice: Act less like an A-hole and ill edit my post and give you advice you DON’T know.

Here is some advice: Quit being so sensitive and learn to read
How exactly was I being an a-hole?

“Thanks a heap guys, I’ll keep this in mind next time I come up against them. Appreciate it.” I can see the sarcasm laced in what you said, i’m smarter then you think.

Haha. No, you’re paranoid and ignorantly mistake yourself to be intelligent. There was no sarcasm in that comment. None at all. I really did appreciate the help given by everyone. It wasn’t a direct response to you either. Why would I be sarcastic when I’m asing for help? And the key to sarcasm is to state the opposite opinion while also suggesting that those aren’t my true thoughts. My comment was clearly genuine, given that there was no suggestion.
