Hey everyone, was just clicking through Youtube and stumbled across this youtuber. He made some very good points in this video and just thought I’d share it with you guys.

Essentially, he is saying that many people wonder how Halo can change if it keeps the classic formula. Firstly, the spartan abilities in Halo 5 don’t work at a fundamental level. At the simple press of a button, you could perform one of the abilities and this affects the core of the gameplay. With the inclusion of these abilities, we have seen other things disappear (No Grav-lift, no vehicles in slayer, no teleporters, and same-y maps). If you don’t like a certain ability, than you have a problem with the game. Whereas in older Halo titles, the things that changed gameplay were in the environment. That way if you had a problem with the way it played, you only had a problem with that map. This contains the changes and if the majority of the community didn’t like it, it’d be much easier for the dev team to tweak or outright remove it. The things that Halo 5 added all changed the core of the gameplay, but the things the classic titles added were more tools (dual-wielding, dynamic elements, heavy weapons, vehicle boarding, and equipment) in the sandbox for the devs to use.
My hope is that one day 343i will see this and rethink how they approach the Halo franchise. Like with everything that exhausts you or frustrates you, the best thing to do is take a break and rethink your strategy. Anway, here’s the video if you wanted to watch the whole thing.
