How to improve Halo campaign

Hi everyone / 343,

Been a Halo fan since the original, i loved it mostly for the campaign / splitscreen : story, iconic characters, gameplay, open vehicular evels etc…
Halo 5 is a great game, not denying that, but i would like to share some suggestions on how to improve in the campaign.

1- plz, don’t expect that all halo fans have read the extended lore…i play videogames as a hobby cause i hate reading or listen to some audio logs : so plz, give us some quick cutscenes / prologue missions etc… to catch up on some important events / characters : ie blue team, team osiris, what happened to the didact etc… i know its all in the comics, but again, i dont like reading comics…i wanna live those moments / stories through a videogame. I had a hard time cheering and caring for blue/ osiris team cause I didn’t know them…didnt know their background etc…on top that we barely played as masterchief.

  • to remedy that : i suggest, before halo 6, do release a game or DLC kinda like halo : odst , where we get to cover the origin stories : first missions with blue team / relationship with masterchief, first contact with the covenant, young Halsey / Keyes, creation of cortana etc…it will be so nostalgic ( You finished the fight in halo 3…now see how it all started !! ) That would be an awesome game / DLC !

2- plz, let us customize our weapons / vehicle in the campaign. Give us a reason to collect all those intel files = unlocking cool mods for the weapons n vehicles.
Be able to call in orbital / airstrikes ( limited use in halo reach and 4 was awesome ! ) ? weapons / vehicle / marine drops ? When you finish the campaign : being able to unlock unlimited ammo skulls / unlimited health for replayability etc…
3- Adding teamates was ok : but allow us to fully command them individually to fully utilise their supposed unique abilities : Snipe that ! Shotgun this ! man this turret and STAY THERE till i tell u to regroup !! Go quiet ( ie invisible / suppressed weapons only ) ! Go loud !

4- Adding more variety of weapons, especially in the campaign : its part of the excitement to advance in the campaign to find out what new weapons / vehicles you’ll be able to use. The new redesigns n sounds were awesome ! but plz, more variety ie different kinds of pistols ( auto, suppressed, slug etc…), shotguns ( auto, slugs, fireshells ), machineguns, sniper rifles etc… allowing us to customize them would really help.

5- Splitscreen : i know about the 60 fps…but if black ops 3 was able to do it with their good looking graphics, you guys should be able to pull it off too. Instead of forcing people to stay in their homes and play alone…you should keep encouraging gamers to get together for awesome couch fun ( campaign and multiplayer )

Thank you for your time ! Keep up the good work !

what you guys think ?

I think that this game was the ultimate middle child game. The game had no serious connection to Halo 4, and everything it does, it does to add details and motivations for Halo 6. 3 or 4 (can’t remember) of the missions are simply talking to random people. 2 of which take place in the same area. Multiplayer that performs very well, but looks like it is from 2 years ago, which if you look at the development time of the game, would make sense. Warzone is a fun game type, but it’s very easy to determine at the 6 minute mark if it’ll be a blowout or a close game. REQ packs sound good on paper, but if you spend the money on them, you’ll have a better time in game, as you’ll be paying for power, which really just helps out the team. I’ve seen games where a kid in my game, dropped 2 scorpions, a mantis, and 3 banshees and dominated the game with 100 kills. Talking with a few programmer buddies from school, said that the game is a programmers dream, as everything acts as it should, and laugh at me (being a artist/designer) that the game looks like its made of Legos.

The game is depressingly average, but can only go up from here.

Make Master Chief the star and Hero of the Halo game on every mission, because everyone who play halo game want to be the Hero char in game. When people buy the halo 5 game they want to play as master chief on every mission to end on halo 5 campaign.
