The following is probably the only way to make mercy rule. I’ve only had to deal with this once, and it did piss me off, but since this is an apparent problem, here’s an answer for it.
Conditions needed to be met:
Team needs be without any base control and stuck at their own base.
At this time the game will check after 4 mins of being in their base, if in this time 80% of all new kills belong to the attacking side the game will ask:
Do you want to surrender?
Yes? (up depad) No? (down depad)
If the team chooses not to surrender, the game continues and the the game will check again but from then on every 2 mins, and ask the same question.
If the team chooses to surrender, then the core will self destruct and the attacking team gets the 1000 points for destroying the core. End of story.
This method not only checks for an extreme case, but even it’s wrong, the players can still choose whether or not they feel they need to surrender. I think it would work if a system like this is ever needed. Also the game will be the one to ask not the players, seeing as since the attackers did push the team, they can farm for a bit, they got what they came for. However, cause the mercy rule isn’t player started, someone can’t just say, lets surrender, the moment they’re taken to their core.
Get what I’m laying down? Debate, tell me what you think. But don’t for the love of god call me something and tell me I’m less than intelligent for this idea. I’m just throwing it out there, criticize the idea, not me? K? Cool
I personally don’t think Halo should implement a mercy rule, but if it did, this system is the best I’ve heard yet. Having the game detect it and offer is far better than a player vote initialized at any time.

The hope was to strike a balance that made sense. Not to make it lop sided or unfair. And unbiased middle ground.

I believe that surrendering is a bad idea. Besides, if the enemy team surrenders and you just used a mantis, is that right?

Is spawn camping a team for 10 mins alright? I mean, if you can do it, sure, all the power to them. But Halo 5 is already a hyper competitive environment. And when THE casual mode is now be -Yoink- on by hardcore players wanting to look cool so they harvest games of warzone like they have been. New players will just run back to call of duty. And then people complain halo is dieing and that it has to come back to being the top shooter. But then people do this and wonder why people leave halo.

Then it defeats the purpose of being a casual mode, and it turns into try hard hell. Unless they’re invisible maybe.

people dont want everything to be ranked as for me i could care less but we have to think about everyone else who wants social playlists.
All I get from your post is that you want to give quitters a legitimate way to get out of losing games. If you don’t want to stay in a losing game… Just be ready to eat a ban. No mercy rule needed. And mercy rule would ruin my gaming experience when I do warzone with friends or Spartan company members.

Then don’t complain about Halo being in low population. and that COD has more players. Smite has this, and MOBAs are also quite competitive, so I don’t see why this is wrong. If you feel that having a full team rush your core in 2 mins and then spawn camp you for 10 mins and then you should be banned for it. That’s just cold. I didn’t quite because of the req points, otherwise I would have. I would have very glady surrendered under such might. But the fact I should get banned for getting spawned killed literally seconds after spawn for 10 mins, come on now, that would make anyone second guess their game of choice.

Don’t run warzone solo? And why would I get banned we r playing the game. We nee a lot of kills for Achilles blame 343. It’s faster to farm than get a quick win

spawn killing has been around in Halo before. In MCC we used to do it all the time. Yall are acting like this is something just happening, when people predict and spawn kill on arena it’s considered strategic but in warzone it’s unfair. It will forever be apart of the game, and if you really wanna fix it this isn’t the way. 343 needs to make a system were it matchs teams agaisnt teams and people searching solo agaisnt other people searching solo. And if you getting spawned killed then you’re just gunna have to work on your skills and quit coming here to ask for a surrender button. YOU’LL NEVER GET BETTER BY SURRENDERING.

First of all, I don’t go to warzone to sharpen my skills, so surrendering isn’t an issue. 2nd, not everyone can run with a team, it’s not like everyone who plays this game, runs with a team, and if you expect that from everyone, then please think about it again. Warzone is a casual mode, and right now players that are diamond or higher are flooding it and wrecking the hell out of people who are there to have fun. Warzone isn’t the Arena, Warzone is a casual mode. Players shouldn’t eat bans for having to deal with these players cause they left for getting spawned killed for 10 mins, and it’s not going to affect any kind of skill rank if they surrendered. Players are being abused for stat padding. Don’t say that players being beaten up for it need to just get gud or get wrecked.
This would cause a lot of rage if they had this because what if 55% of the team wants to give up but the other 45% doesn’t the 45% would basically have to throw a game because the rest of the team is all discouraged, if its really that much of a problem for people to deal with in warzone then quit and let someone who wants to help take your place.

It could be a voting system like congress where 3/4s majority required. so only 4 people didn’t agree. Hmm?
