So a few weeks ago I decided to save up some REQ points and 100k quickly turned to 200k+
I didn’t realize that once you ran out of potential unlocks in a certain class of REQS (in this case silver) then it gives you back RP and forces gold packs to give you better loot, meaning you get more bang for your buck.
I know that this is probably common knowledge between those people who have been paying attention and I suspected as much but after doing this I actually saw it with my own eyes and now I know and thought I’d pass it on to others who might be more casual players.
SO… don’t waste your RP on gold packs anymore, at least until you’ve depleted your silver packs. After opening all my silvers I only get Ultra Rare and Legendary items from my gold now.
I recorded my opening so that I could show my friends, so I’ll post it here for anyone who’s interested as well. (Hope its okay to link Youtube videos?)
Cant tell you how satisfying it was to open these packs!
Oh and for anyone who makes these opening videos I found out a good tip to make them a little bit prettier. You see people lining up all their REQ packs which looks good right… a few of them achieve this by purchasing them with real cash (who can afford that! 0-o) But if you are poor like me then just come here to waypoint and buy your packs individually. Select do not open or whatever and when you go back to your game they will all be waiting for you as a reward for your arduous grind!
Finally, if anyone wants to add me feel free, I am Sniperus Snape and usually an ONYX player in Arena but I do hit warzone with my friends.
Better late than never… I sort of had an idea, hence the reason I bought a ton of silvers in this case. I kinda wanted to prove it to my friends though who I failed to convince to stop buying golds with their points!
The video was particularly painful for one of my friends who has yet to get a DMR at almost rank 60 haha and that legendary DMR I unlocked towards the end is an absolute favorite of mine now.
I knew about this for a while now, but I’m sure this is helpful for some of the new people to Halo 5 OP. I have a question though. From everyone else’s experience, is opening
Bronze-Silver-Gold better? Or is skipping bronze and just doing Silver then golds? I’ve been just opening silvers, since I hardly ever get any permanent unlocks from bronze packs.
Thanks. I knew to only buy silver until got all common and uncommon but didn’t know that the game will force you to buy gold packs once you filled them all. Good to know.

Do it in order there is a lot more common items than you think and you can beef up those low rarity reqs that are actually very useful like the storm rifle common req 1 that is a beast at the start of a match. … But to make it clearer for those that say skip bronze you get a permanent unlock 50% of the time and can open 2-3 per war zone match just saying
