How to get longer kill streaks?

Does anyone have some tips on how to get longer sprees? I’ve only made it up to running riot so far and I just can’t seem to get any further before I die. I need some tips on how to extend my sprees at least up to an untouchable (and don’t just say to use vehicles).

I only have two running riots in Halo 4. I got one in the Gauss Hog and one in a Mantis.

Sorry, gonna have to say vehicles.

Find a half competent driver and jump in the guass hog on Exile. My gunner once went 53-0 and I’m pretty sure others have done even better.

Or you could just run with a DMR the ammo perk and mobility as well then just keep you distance from people on the map and pick them off one by one. Depending on the level of competition you face it’s always a good idea to move around the map also, don’t just camp one spot and try playing with a party who communicate this helps a great deal.

I take the ammo perk, but not mobility because I really like dexterity alot better. I guess it’s worth a shot though. What armor ability is the best for surviving? I really like promethian vision in infinity slayer but it’s pretty useless in BTB because BTB is so much longer range. Anyone had success with regen field or auto sentry?

Pick your fights and play defensively. It’s easier to plan when they are coming to you and are unaware of your presence.

I get running riots easily on Dominion. I find a base and protect it from attackers. If I’m not dodging grenades and bolt shots down below then I am on the roof sniping them as they come. I like to have a long range and close range power weapon nearby.

Big Team is different. Try not to put yourself out in the open too much otherwise you’re easy prey for snipers and DMRs. If your team is in control of a Scorpion or a Mantis, stay near it. You can get easy kills off of people who are too concerned about the giant tank in their face to notice you.

The AA I recommend for staying alive is the hardlight shield. Assuming you’re keeping your distance, you can put up the shield and side step into cover when you’re getting shot. It’s especially helpful for making snipers waste their shots. They get a body shot on you, turn and look at them, put up the shield, and move. They always use a second shot on your shield. Same with DMR users trying to cross-map you.

To the exception of SWAT, which is easily my best gametype, I seem to get sprees in BTB quite easily by running with a DMR and Ammo.

I try to place myself in an area that has cover but a really good view of the field. I also never stray too far away from a teammate because that extra gun helps a lot.

Be smart, pick your battles wisely, position yourself well and just focus on the game. You’ll start getting sprees like crazy.

Just don’t end up like me. Always choke up on my 20th kill. Elusive Rampage.

Adding onto that the hardlight shield is also good against boltshots. It sometimes even makes the boltshot user commit suicide. Lots of T’baggin involved after that. Hilariously funny.

Skill, for one.

Pick your fights, and take a BR/LR. DMR is basically useless if you want to go anywhere. I’d also advise sticking in groups, and firing off the first shots. If you get them to half shields, don’t be an idiot and throw a grenade. If they throw, jump forwards and pepper them with shots. It’s all about keeping your opponent on the backfoot, and having an escape root.

That help?

mainly vehicles, Gauss Hog, Mantis, wraith (on the maps it comes up) and scorpion tank, is what I have gotten most of mine on (went all the way up to "Unfricanbelivible once on the Gauss Hog), you def need a good driver that wont run and gun to the other side and get you killed.
another way would be to use sniper weapons and camo sit on your base like ragnarook and and snipe them as they run or stick their heads over the top of the hill. the person we have on our team that does this reg gets 15 to 20 kills, he even completed his perfection commendation doing this.
Last bit of advice do run and gun or spray and pray cause you will not get it

Thanks for the replies. @Oli The G I think I might have been getting a little lazy in the skills department too lately (been playing alot of assasin’s creed and not as much halo) lol.

Start on blue team on exile,

steal the tank at some point,

get back near your base,

mop up.

The best tip I can give you is not to let the pressure of realizing you’re doing well get to you.

I have TONS of perfections through Halo 3 and Reach, and even a couple in Halo 4. And if there’s anything I learned it’s that if you realize how close you are to achieving one, your heart starts pumping and you get nervous, that causes you to drop the ball when it really counts, and play too cautiously, either not getting into enough fights to reach the killcount you need, or getting pinned in a room and surrounded.

Just clear your mind, and keep playing.

try to get ur streaks/ordance as fast a possible… run on the outside of the maps to pick em off. try to sit somewhere safe close to their spawn…

its actually not that hard to get high sprees.
ur map awareness needs to be good and you need to know where they spawn where ever you are or your teamamtes are… so you wont get killed out of nowhere…

It’s simple. We, er, kill the batman more players.

Sorry about that…

Most I got was a rampage from using a tank in BTB. Got 38 kills and 4 deaths in the game. Nearly got an untouchable but got spammed with plasma jetpackers eventually. Without vehicles though…well, I dunno. I could do with some tips as well which don’t involve camping in some way. I hate staying still in games, but I’ve always found myself getting good sprees in objective games. Everyone is pretty much distracted on the objective and just throw themselves out into the open; waiting for you to silently swoop by and headshot everyone with a DMR from afar in the confusion.

Just use a BR. No vehicles or even BTB modes needed to get high sprees. Simply dominate.

Honestly the answer is pretty lame, but its to play people who are just way below your skill level. I have gotten 3 unfriggenbelievable (40 kills), I know the first one was on Complex ctf where I was just on top of that base spawn killing with DMR all game and they were just helpless. Then I had a 43-0 or something game on Ragnarok CTF in the mantis the whole time. I don’t remember the third one.

Also- play CTF rather than anything with ordinance, though now CTF has ordinance half the time also. It’s going to be pretty hard to streak together a huge number of kills when there are 8 people on the opposing team who at some point are going to be calling in binary rifles and incineration cannons.
