I just bought a new computer and went to redownload my copy of Halo CE, but it won’t get past 3% because the disc is scratched. Is there anywhere to purchase a digital download of Halo CE? They don’t carry it in any stores around where I am and I miss playing it.
I want to avoid buying a physical copy on Amazon or Ebay if at all possible, because I’ve had some bad experiences with getting defective games from there before.
You can get Halo: Custom Edition. It’s a modified version of Halo 1 that let’s you play online, which you can’t now because gamespy servers shut down. Custom edition has a really good multiplayer and brings modded maps to the table. On some maps, you can drive a scarab or even a longsword. There are plenty of tutorials on YouTube on how to get it, the only problem is that you have to get a used CD key, meaning you can’t play LAN. There is also tutorials on YouTube on how to get the campaign. The game is great I recommend it!

I still have my CD key, it’s just the CD itself that is scratched. I remember I had Custom Edition awhile back with a modded campaign with a bunch of new vehicles and weapons which was really cool, but is it possible to get the original campaign as well?

I am 95% sure you can get the actual campaign. I never tried though because I always had the original for pc. I’m pretty sure there is a ton of tutorials on YouTube to get it though.
The sucky thing is that none of these comments helped me find out how to get the original unmodified game.
There is no download for it, you’ll have to buy another disk from Amazon or Ebay.
However, if you go to Halomaps.org you can download the original menu and campaign missions essentially giving you the original game.
