Remember to put a bullet into each enemy after the round ends, so you get credit for killing them when they all have their spontaneous heart attacks. Most importantly, have lots of vehicle reqs and don’t be afraid to use them.
By the way, why do you even want to get first place? It’s a PVE mode, your teammates aren’t who you’re supposed to be competing against. Just play to win the match.
Kill… kill the bosses and minions?
Sorry if this was vague but I normally get 1st or second on the leaderboard naturally. Sorry.
But ultra wraith gets me there, not sure if that’s important though

i love filling enemies with bullets after round ends so much points
Splatter with a hog/ghost in early rounds. Use a wraith or scorpion as soon as possible
Run over everything.
Call in ghosts.
Vehicles
Use a wraith or scorpion as soon as you can
use wartogh, even those with no guns, splat the enemys, kill the boss
try to use the most vehicles and power weapons you can
Ghost Ultra’s are the way to go, you just melt enemies with them.
Why care about placement when you are all on the same team?
Slaughter everything in sight including teammates (don’t actually). Steal all boss kills, kill has many things as possible, sacrifice a Moa, use reqs to get kills don’t just keep using the pistol and AR also if there are enemies left on the filed keeping shooting you get points for it even if you dont actually finish them off.

Scout warthog/warthog until you are level 3, then ghost till level 6, then scorpion through end. Use these 3 Req’s, then do everything you can to survive rounds and you will get 1st in the match soon. These are usually the only Req’s I use in Firefight, with an occasional Wraith depending on the bosses, and I am usually 1st or 2nd. Work on racking up kills instead of focusing on bosses in the beginning of the rounds, damaging the first 25% of a bosses health is useless to your score, killing the minions helps your score and helps make it easier to kill the boss in the end anyways.
If you get grunts or crawlers. Magnum them all to death, in the face! Get a streak going and always try blast to 3 reqs. BR is a game changer
I get in the top three or four when teammates are clueless (or rather new and don’t have much unlocked).
I’d rather just casually coast and not effort what should be a cakewalk.
Unfortunately WZFF was built with artificial difficulty spikes rendering it a frequent chore instead of mindless fun.
