I have a fairly new account, and I am playing halo reach, I am trying to get the EOD helmet, but I have trouble getting credits, please help me.
If you Have Gold just play Matchmaking, you get decent amount of Cr each match
But if you want the Holy Grail of Credits, just find a Grifball match & just sit in the corner
But Grifball isn’t that legit and it’s based on other players, if they are going for credit boosting or not.
Score Attack on the other hand is legit and you just need to play the game like the player is expected to, still slower than Grifball boosting but you don’t stand in a single place to do nothing and you can play Score Attack at anytime, it’s solo Firefight (single round too, not single set) .
Top modes are 2X Score Attack and Fiesta Attack, of course Firefight is better if you can kill a lot of enemies.
I’ve been playing Halo Reach constantly for the past year, and I do believe that the EOD is 15,000 credits. That being said, I find it way easier to to get credits through matchmaking. If you don’t want to play grifball, firefight is a good option. Pick up a rocket launcher and start jamming through. Score attack is only one round, but only requires you, meaning less time, more kills, and hopefully more credits. If you are just starting out, completing commendations helps as well.

Score Attack rounds (Grunts > Jackals > Brutes > Skirmishers > Spec Ops Elites) only have 120 enemies from waves, the best I got was something like 134 with random drop pods coming.
My average best on Firefight isn’t far from twice this number, sometimes beyond 250 kills, if you have people go for Firefight.
Both the fuel rod gun and the rocket launcher are good with a DMR as secondary or a melee weapon if things are out of control (heretics during the 3rd round) but if you have an extremly good sniping spot, the sniper and the focus rifle are ok, just keep in mind your secondary weapon because the rocket launcher isn’t good at close quarters if the A.I. rush to your position.
EDIT : don’t rush too much, you shouldn’t stay in the open between wave 1 and 5 during the 2nd and 3rd round.

Basically This^^^^.
I was a Warrant Officer in January… I’m a Forerunner now. {I haven’t been on Reach as much lately though… If i played it as much as I play destiny, I’ll be an Inheritor right about now}.
Yeah griffball is the best source of credits, but you really need to no life the game. Took me 7 years of fairly casual play to reach the final rank.
So, everyone here is suggesting to sit in the corner in Grifball… I don’t reccomend doing that as it is considered boosting which can lead you to being banned and when you go to other playlists you will likely suck as you gain experience in melee weapons which are mostly absent (in a way) in those other playlists. I reccomend playing standard playlists and attempt to complete the challenges, especially the weekly challenges.
Grifball isn’t Grifball anymore. It’s “sit in the corner and spawncamp ball”
I can’t even get onto multiplayer
It sucks, I can’t get on it says I need to connect to Xbox live even tho I have gold
I pretty much just grind on Firefight for credits. Is a better way to avoid getting yelled at in multiplayer.

Being yelled isn’t really common. It’s extremely rare, if not, impossible to find someone that immature in matchmaking. At least from my experience
Daily Challenges are your friend! Plus commendations, although those can take a while, even if you are actively trying to get them completed. Would definitely reccomend Firefight for both of those, at least when you can apply the challenges to them, like the “any game mode on Reach” ones.

I found that Arcadefight works well for both practice and cR provided you do not choose the Fuel Rod Needler Jetpack Loadout, otherwise it gets rather boring and kind of takes away from the point of Arcadefight in the first place. It’s a great way to sharpen those Sniper Skills (As most people do choose the Fuel Rod loadout in Arcadefight) and outshoot others on most maps(Like Beachhead, Glacier, and Outpost), and when you get the maps like Waterfront and Corvette, those are a great time to get some practice with the Grenade Launcher Shotgun Armor Lock ‘Operator’ Loadout.
If people choosing the Fuel Rod loadout still causes an issue for you, if you have the Anniversary Map Pack, grab a friend, set the search settings to the most strict, and play some Anniversary Firefight, Arcadefight when the loading list comes up. This way, ther eis a high chance nobody else will join you, so the game basically creates the ‘Firefight Doubles’ scenario, and hence you and your friend can have fun without ending up with a migrane from your screen shaking with so much green.
Just stay away from Firefight Limited. From my experience, people who end up playing that tend to be tryhards and when you get a Hero medal and bring everybody back, instead of praising you, they scold and yell at you for not ending the game, you know for playing the game as intended and surviving.

Score Attack is another fantastic suggestion if you want to play solo with no lag and earn decent amounts of cR. If you find regular Score Attack to be hard, in the Score attack playlist, keep an eye out for Gruntpocalypse, start with that and work your way up to the regular Score Attack. Keep an eye out for the Holdout map to start as well and work your way up to more open maps. Holdout is a great map to start with as it is easy to hold a good position from the main spawn point if you are strategic in all Score Attack variants.

Grifball is good if you can find seven friends and play the gametype as intended, which is to score the Objective. Otherwise, stay away from this playlist as people like to cheat with this playlist by boosting cR, K/D Ratio(Statpadding), and commedations via Spawncampkilling as well as boost cR through the Performance Bonus System by sitting around and doing nothing for 13-21 minutes. Both variants of boosting were not intended by the developer and are cheating. They violate LIVE Code of Conduct and people have been issued manual bans for boosting with either method from being reported.

Daily Challenges are also an excellent recommendation in most cases. Occasionally you will get the broken Daily CHallenges ‘Clip it, Share it’ or ‘Linked upto B.net’ which both do not work (the B.net one does if you linked up before the transition from Bungie to 343i, but for 1 cR? lol XD), but most daily challenges are working properly and are usually not that hard, unless you have to hunt for the BoB Elite (Gold Elite Ranger) in a level. When those pop up, all I can say is happy hunting if you are going to try.
‘Light Fare’ as well as ‘Blastin and Relaxin’ and ‘Shootin and Lootin’ are the three Daily Challenges to keep an eye out for as they apply to any gamemode in Reach and are really easy to accomplish. I will say also keep an eye on the Weekly Challenges as once in a full moon, you will get one that requires a friend, and although it takes a bit to complete, it will be worth the payout. Also the Weekly challenge ‘Your Daily Dose’ is usually easy to get if you can spare the 2-5 hours to get all the daily challenges in one day.

My least favourite map is Waterfront, now the idea of the base at the center is nice but sightlines sucks and on 2X Score Attack, you have a higher chance to stuggle (that idea is just lolz to begin with) if you stay in the base, unlike all other maps the best camping spot is the path you take to come here in campaign and it’s right under the random sniper spawn.
People are overlooking Skirmigeddon, it’s less dangerous than Gruntpocalypse and Grunts have a higher chance to kill themselves, Skirmishers run faster also so they come at you easily, the shelter with the ammo crate on Installation 04 is pure gold. Grunts are a lot more dangerous too, grenades and fuel rod guns.
One of the most effective sniper spot of all maps is the one at the top of a tree on Installation 04 that give you a view of a large part of the map, the best is that the A.I. never make a move for you unless she is already close, the only thing you have to worry about is a Spirit and on round 3 an Elite with a rocket launcher spawning on the shelter nearby, you are in his attack range. Teammates and the random drop pod releasing rangers are one too.
You need a jetpack for that spot.

Waterfront is a good challenge in Arcadefight. I like to use the Operator (Shotgun, Grenade Launcher, Armor Lock loadout) on that map. If you use strategy and pace yourself, you can get the top score and not die with that loadout, without switching any of the weapons. The trick is venture building to building (Staying inside) without being in sight of the Jackal Sniper and effectively use cover and elevation to your advantage. I have proven to several people, including Waypoint Community Engineer Cizlin that this can be done and pretty fun, but I have yet to find anybody who is willing to try this ‘challenge’.
Now for Score Attack, Waterfront is hell, most definately as you typically do not have said firepower to deal with being flanked due to the way the buildings are setup. In my opinion, Unearthed is outright the worst Firefight map hands down regardless of Firefight gametype. Literally no cover except at the main spawn point.
As for Installation 04, the set of stair tunnels leading from the ground to the main upper structure (I call it the panic room XD) is also great if you are working with close quarter weapons (Or Tier 3 Heretics spawn in on Arcadefight, because that is a whole lot of no). All in all nice advice from your end and I hope I added to it.
Corvette is probably the easiest map to boost credits on score attack. Try to get as many commendations as possible (shotgun sprees, noob combos, headshots, needle kills, multikills, etc) but be mindful of the challenges you can complete daily. I wouldn’t waste my time on the ones that are difficult to complete, especially the weekly challenges. Just focus on the ones you can finish in an hour.

Except maybe Endure The Return. That challenge is easy and quick to complete and can be done on local Firefight. Steps:
- Make you invulnerable to everything; - Change your damage settings to 300%, equip the Focus Rifle or Assault Rifle and a explosive weapon, with bottomless clip; - Change your speed, jump height and gravity at your will and preference; - Set the limit to 5 sets (Setting it to 4 won’t count for some reason); - Turn on your second controller and select a guest account; - Set the enemy troops to Elite Generals, Brute Chieftains or Hunters; - Murder your enemies >:D - Gain a lot of credits after following these steps; - Repeat when available.

Yeah the entire Griffball playlist is a credit grinder now. No one is there to play Griffball anymore. You can get manually reported and banned so it’s best to use it sparingly. In general if you want to avoid the auto ban hammer, then keep moving around a bit and make sure you and any and all controllers you have get at least one kill. I tended to jump into it at the end of a day for a match while I worked on something else. Honestly it barely helped in the big picture. The best way is to play the game a ton and go for the challenges.
