I pretty much have zero experience with forge. Yeah I have built a couple of maps… literally only a couple and that was back in H3. So I have an idea for forge and some say forge is better than ever now so I figure give it a shot… I open forge and disappointed from the start as it appears I have to pick a map of 343s or a bookmarked map. Is there no blank slate to start from? Am I missing something or do I have to pick a map and then delete stuff to start from scratch? I would like to get into more custom game type stuff but never do. Maybe I should just search for maps instead of trying to make one.
Choose “parallax” That is a blank canvas. There are also 2 other canvases, Alpine and Glacier, that can help provide nice time of day effects and unique atmospherics. The awesome thing about Halo 5 is I an use Alpine terrain on Glacier map canvas to make it look like an alpine map at night.
Also scripting is amazing. It takes practice but it can do wonders.
Yeah I have never been a good forger. All I have ever made was some sniping ranges which were maps with sniper rifles and man cannons that would launch fusion coils… so I could practice sniping.
