It’s a pretty simple matter actually, to make the game balanced. Here’s how to do it:
-When more of one team are in a base than the other, it should start capping that base for the larger team.
-When a base is being taken, killing all attackers within it shouldn’t instantly reset the capture, however it should be more like returning flags from previous Halo titles, where you have to stay in the base unopposed until the base returns to normal.
-When bases are at full operation they should have a series of small machine turrets with laser sights on the roofs to help keep attackers at bay (though not very powerful turrets). The laser sights will obviously be a good indicator for their victims that they’re being targeted. This was a fantastic feature from Dominion in Halo 4. When the turrets are destroyed you simply wait for them to respawn or go to a small station and hold X to repair or something. Hell, even make them cost REQ energy to repair if you really want, I’m easy, don’t know about you guys.
-AI boss points should be designated to the team that dealt the most damage, not the team that landed the last shot. That’ll make for balanced and fair use of the bosses and it’ll stop people from just camping a corner with a rail-gun and waiting until the opposing team does a tonne of damage before attacking.
+bonus AI suggestion: A friend a while back suggested that maybe for every bit of damage you deal, you get points. Say for example the boss is giving 100 points, and they have 1000 health. Dealing 10 damage would give you 1 point for your team or something (didn’t do the math there, just throwing it down since it sounded right)
-Remove the ability to pick up grenades. By all means make it an armor mod just like the perk in Halo 4. But grenade spam is far too excessive as of current. Or at the very least make grenade refills cost 1 REQ energy or something like that.
Tell me what you guys and girls think. Personally this is just taking tips and tricks from other games with objective capture gamemodes that ACTUALLY work well, such as Battlefield 4 and hell even Halo 4.
