Anyone who is not in denial about the dominance of the DMR will know that Gun Balance in this game is ever so slightly off. I propose that a certain number of actions that could be taken to reduce/eliminate the imbalance:
- Make the BR a 4-shot-kill. This would mean that the BR is far better than the DMR at close-ranges, but still suffers at longer ranges.
- Slightly reduce RoF on the Carbine, but make it a 7/8 shot-kill again. This will mean the Carbine SHOULD theoretically be able to compete with the BR in the Close-Medium ranges like in Halo 2/3 respectively.
- The DMR should fire 1 bullet every 0.400 seconds, this would make a 2 second kill time. Although severely handicapping the gun at Close range, it should still dominate Longer-ranges.
These 3 weapons should all be able to compete at Medium ranges without 1 gun out-performing another. (Hopefully)
Here’s a few ideas that aren’t really necessary:
- Maybe a slight buff to the Storm Rifle, Suppressor and AR. (Please note, I don’t want this. But this is only in the interests of balance)
- Increase the amount of bullets used when over-charging a boltshot, the whole clip is used rather than half. (Not sure if this has already been implemented, I don’t use it).
Just a few thoughts I’ve been having. I love the game, but the multi-player can get a bit stale at times. Feel free to post a reply.
