How to fix Halo 5's armor customization

As we all know armor customization in Halo 5 is extremely restricted compared to say Halo Reach or even Halo 4. Where in those games we could change our helmets, shoulders, forearms, leg armor and visor with a varied amount of color to chose from. But in Halo 5 all we’ve got is helmet, armor and visor with a limited color palette to change on our spartans. It’s fair to say that Halo 5 armor customization lacks a lot when compared to previous Halo titles, but I think that with a few major tweaks the current system could be made a whole lot better.
With Halo 5 we only get helmets and armors from req packs and that’s all fine and dandy but that’s as far as you can personalize your armor in Halo 5, which leaves a lot to be desired from the current system. This can easily be fixed by still allowing players to earn helmets and armors from req packs but then going deeper into that by then allowing change each individual piece of their armor. Players could mix and match their helmet, shoulders, forearms, chest, thighs, and leg pieces to their personal liking. Forget clipping because at this point there’s already plenty of complete armor sets in Halo 5 that clip and it just isn’t that big of deal anyway when you allow players full customization of their armor. If I wanted to wear the Noble helmet with the Mark IV shoulders, Centurion forearms, Mark V chest, Argus thighs, and Noble legs I should be able to. This would add a whole new layer of customization to Halo 5 that would allow no two spartans to look the same. Each player would be completely unique down to their every piece of armor. Players would be able to completely control the look of their spartan with this system. And if you’re not into that sort of thing there could be just an option to wear one set of whole of armor if customization isn’t your schtick.
Now with visors I’d keep the 343’s system the way it is for the most part. Right now we have a very large and satisfying amount of visors to chose from. But I want to make that better so I would allow players to be able to change the pattern (the little octagon things in most visors) of their visor and another option to change the texture of their visor to either matte or shiny. Say I wanted my visor to be matte and have no pattern on the inside of it with this system I could easily do that. However you want your visor to look with this system it would be possible down to the fine details.
Halo 5’s armor customization just doesn’t have enough colors to chose from. The color palette in Halo 5 is pretty limited and some of the colors look really off in game, we should be able to have the same amount of colors for our armor as we do for objects in forge. That’s why forge’s color palette should become the armors color palette. I’d also add a third option to change the color of the white stripes seen on all most all of the armors that way if you don’t like the white you could easily change it to another you do. With more much more colors and 3 different areas to change the color our spartan there would exponentially more customization added in to Halo 5. Each players spartan would be completely their own from head to toe.
Black undersuits. I said it whatcha gonna do about it? Yes black undersuits or more to the point the option to change the color of our undersuit. To often do 343’s armors look like giant colored blobs from a distance because their brightly colored undersuits don’t allow for any of their armor pieces to define themselves. Everything looks the same with a colored undersuit, now how do you rectify this issue? It’s simple you allow players to chose their undersuit color, if I want a completely black undersuit with this system I can could easily chose it to that color or to another completely different color if I wanted. With the color palette being the same in size as the one I suggested for the armor itself. I’d make sure though that when players select a black undersuit that their groin piece would stay the same color as their base armor so that their spartan doesn’t look empty without a space diaper so it’s like Master Chief’s undersuit in Halo 4. This way customization is completely in the hands of the player and they can play with or without a colored undersuit. In multiplayer then gamemodes with team colors your armor and undersuit would automatically be forced to your team’s colors. PS here’s a bunch of black undersuits to really drive home how much better looking they are than colored undersuits.
Another thing I would add before I’m done is that the current armor textures in Halo 5 are very plastic and shiny looking, when it should gritty and metallic like tank armor. Armor should look worn and badass but right now it just doesn’t with the current texture. If 343 could somehow change the texture to the one I described our spartans would look much better in game. Their armor would like something you’d see on a modern tank instead of looking like an action doll or power ranger like it does now.
In my humble opinion if 343 could implement my suggestions into Halo 5 or 6 they would make the customization system infinitely bigger than it currently is. Allowing for a much wider scope of customization that would easily rectify all of the petty complaints people like myself have with Halo 5’s current system.
If you have anything to add or say just comment below. I’m up for conversation on the topic so let me know what you add or take away from my suggestions. I’m looking for refinement to make the best possible customization system so let me know what you think!

The REQ system would have to be scrapped for the old customization system to work.

I always thought it was weird that they didn’t take all of the accessory options from Reach and just make them REQ’s. I’d be way more excited to unlock a tac-pad accessory than the fourth version of a chest piece with a different white squiggly line. I think it would even be similar to the amount of REQ’s we got now. Helm, shoulders, arms, legs, and torso would still be 5 items per armor set and then when the game is getting stale, add in the armor line squiggles to pad out the REQ pool.

Robot arm would be nice too…

Not true DOOM has the same type of REQ system but it allows you to customize each individual piece of your characters armor 343 can learn from that and besides they they’re are a lot of armors to unlock almost 50% of the armors are reskins or the same but with different torsos and helmets like Athlon and Venture for example thats not what I would call “new armors”

Yeah I felt so jipped with the armor variety, I feel they just made different variants to increase the req pool. What a lazy sleezy way to squeeze more time and money from players without actually providing new armor.

why is that? You would just unlock pieces instead of entire sets.

I honestly don’t really care that much about what my Spartan looks like. It’s a first person game, so we never see them, and this isn’t Destiny so what you wear makes absolutely no difference at all as far as gameplay goes. Obviously, I’ve changed the way my Spartan looks over the course of the game, but if they removed the option to customize the way our character looks completely from the game I don’t think I’d be mad over it.

Also, I’ve never taken the time to look at any other person’s Spartan I’ve ever played against. All I see is Red or Blue.
