How to fix BR vs AR starts in BTB, just add loadouts back for BTB

I think Halo Infinite’s balancing is such that a loadout system in BtB won’t do much but ruin the experience for peoeple using anything other than the precision hitscan rifles, but I do think it’s a feature worth implimenting, if only for customs.

IMO select, predetermined loadouts are a feature they should have never abandoned entirely, and that the community should consider a little more thoughtfully (broadly speaking). I don’t think it should be in every gametype, like it basically was in Reach, but it could spice up the more casual modes like Infection or social slayer, while keeping your access to the sandbox off spawn as restricted as necessary, especially as the sandbox (presumably) expands over the years.

Funny thing about that, weapons are only hit scan at close to medium range at long range they count as a projectile, don’t know the exact range but I have killed someone reflecting a sniper shot and confused someone reflecting a BR burst.

From reading it seems like forcing this would be a bad idea, that said loadouts would work great for a few modes and as a community option.

It would never work because I would just go BR/SMG every game. I prob would never grab any other loadout no matter the mode.

That would not work, big team battle maps are massive, which means long range weapons generally perform much better than short to medium range weapons.

If you allow players to start with BRs, nobody is picking anything other than the BR because that’s objectively the best choice. You can’t challenge the BR with any of the other starting picks, because BTB maps are too big and too open to do so.

Additionally, the game would turn into a campy peekfest, where if you walk around one corner you’re going to get absolutely lasered by 10 simultaneous BR salvos, that’s just no fun. Having AR starts only was a genius move on 343’s part and I will defend that decision until the end of days.

Loadouts weren’t that bad in Reach and 4, but I feel like they shouldn’t be introduced in Infinite unless 343 covers their bases.

Meaning no disruption to gameplay.

They would have to be optional as well in a per game mode thing. Aka most game modes shouldn’t have them.

Yeah, but the thing is when it’s not optimal we’re stuck waiting months for things to be fixed.

Yeah which means things have to be thought out and tested before it is even decided on. meaning time might go into something that is bad and needs scrapped.
