My Idea is to give the Boss 2 health bars, red and blue of course. Both teams can see each others health bar. First team to deplete their health bar gets the kill.
That actually sounds like a great idea.
Also, I think the legendary bosses should give only like 50 or 75 points. 150 is way too much.
Can’t fix what isn’t broken.
Honestly, I get how it might be frustrating to have a kill stolen from you but that is how it was designed to function. Time your attacks so you take large chunks of health off of the boss at once to throw the other team off so they can’t steal the kill, don’t just shoot steadily and let one guy do massive damage at the right second and take your kill. Or scout the area while your team hits the boss looking for thieves hiding in the bushes, its a strategy. Instead of everyone complaining about how boss scoring works they should invest time into learning how to outsmart their foes and take the points for themselves. You can’t get mad when two teams are simultaneously shooting an enemy and the other side gets it, really. A little thought and extra effort goes a long way.

They made this like every other boss-slaying MVP bonus. Like Crimson said, let it happen. This is not a broken system, it’s actually quite brilliant and fun to see in a Halo game mode.
As the above posts have intimated, this is the point of the system. It’s not a problem. You don’t get points for trying to kill a boss. You get points for killing a boss. The ability to snatch the kill at the last minute adds a very specific element of strategy and being disappointed that your opponent beat you doesn’t really justify changing it.
Get a big -Yoink- vehicle to nuke the hell out of the Warden.

I was expecting a ‘omg majority damage should get kill’ but wow, I like this idea. This is a great idea actually, you have my vote!

I try to wait till the boss gets to a low amount of health and then hit it with a powerful weapon and it just feels like a coin flip. When both teams are hammering a Boss I dont get mad, but SO MANY TIMES ive been on a team that does 75+% damage and we dont get the kill and that sucks real bad. Especially when your on the team thats behind in points.
What they could do is give points from each hit on the boss to the respected team. I thinking along the lines of how Destiny shows the health damage you do the enemy with each shot. They could do something like that and I believe it would partially fix the issue. Overall, I dont like how a team can potential not do anything and come in with one shot and get all the points but I really dont mind it in the end.
You can always just assassinate them. Unless they’re hunters or vehicles.

Or split the points according to damage dealt. That would make Warzone way more intense.

Your description of this coordinated team effort and implementation of strategy made me laugh. Don’t get me wrong, I believe that working as a team is very important. I am just trying to imagine implementing your perception of what to do on top of the chaotic insane cluster #$%^ of what is actually happening during the game. lol… yeah, yeah, I will just go and scout the area while both teams are vomiting power weapons and vehicles at each other… that chaotic mess surly wont be an issue with me implementing my strategy.
@OP - Although the boss kill stealing does not really bother me that much, I think you have a good idea. Perhaps make it so that the last 25% heath is team specific. This would prevent instant kill stealing, while still allowing for a team to takeover a situation and snatch a bosses kill.

This is exactly what I am trying to say. In other words I agree with your post.
The kill stealing is just a mechanic of warzone, means you also have to keep the area secured when killing a high value boss. And the threat of a kill steal adds to the desperation of trying to get that boss done.
this is a identical copy of a suggestion in another topic.
No one likes having their kill stolen by an enemy. Especially when that enemy is worth 150 kills.

Yeah everyone is “vomiting” power weapons, totally unaware of whats going on around them. I got six hydra kills earlier when the other team was focused on Warden Eternal, they all just kept filing out of the armory and shooting the boss. I wiped them out, kept them off the field and let my team kill the boss. Its not as hard as you make it sound, sure if you’re in the middle of the chaos you’re screwed but if you calm down and stop freaking out about the boss and take a step back you can really help your team by taking down the other attackers.

Did not know that. Props to the OG poster.
It’s either this, or whoever gets the most damage on the boss gets the kill.
