This Challenge istself is NOT bugged. Being able to Process in some way is. Sure it can be hard, but I have seen some accounts cannot get it. After spending 5 hours straight trying and getting so many assasinations, looking and trying every guide about when to stop sprinting.
I am tired of people telling others they are doing it wrong, or it’s when you stop sprinting. I just saw a video where someone sprinted of a cliff and didn’t cancel sprint at all and assasinated the elite and it counted first try. (Source GT:“SketchyOGKush”)There is no doubt most people are able to achieve it. I tried it on another account and will report the results below.

Within 5 minutes on another account I was able to earn the achievement. I will try again on on my other account.

Many many failures later on my main account, I could not get it. I hopped on my other alternate account and got it first try, making me believe that there certainly is a bug for certain accounts.
HERE IS HOW TO FIX IT on XBOX:
BEFORE DOING THIS UNDERSTAND THAT IT WILL RESET PROGRESS IN CAMPAIGN PLAYLISTS AND RESET CONTROLS TO DEFAULT.
Delete the local/cloud save for your account.
Quit MCC and press the Menu button on the MCC tile>“Manage game and add-ons”>“Saved data”>Select GT>“Delete saved data”>Confirm
After doing this I was able to get the achievement first try.

Can confirm this works. My buddy was trying to get this for 2 days had over 1000 attempts I happened to find Cizlin Twitter thread about it and linked my friend the info. He got it on his first successful attempt after clearing his saved data.

I almost tried this, as I had assassinated the elite multiple times, but I decided to try it one more time and it popped for me. Idk if it was because the elite was moving or if it was how I landed the assassination as the elite turned or what, but it’s worth trying before resetting. Every other time I got the assassination, the elite was standing still and I almost overshot him and was very close to his head before assassinating him. When I popped the achievement, he had just started moving and I was almost touching the ground, and had he not turned, I definitely wouldn’t have gotten the assassination. I can verify that the sprint doesn’t take away from it, as I was sprinting over the cliff. Hopefully this can help some people that weren’t really wanting to reset.

Before resetting I’ve definitely assassinated the elite while he was moving. I’ve gotten so many different angles and animations, tried every strategy it would not unlock. Something related to my account was just not letting it pop.

Sorry I’m just now getting back to you, had some important things that took all my time. As for how long it took, I was at it less than an hour on my account, and took almost 2 and a half on my young cousin’s account. Hopefully by now you’ll have already gotten it, but in the event you haven’t I would definitely suggest getting in touch with 343.
