How to find out enemy tech level without scouting.

Just like in Halo Wars 1, Pressing A on an enemy base or building will UPDATE the information of the enemy’s tech level, even through the fog of war. Very useful for knowing when your enemy is tech 2 without them knowing you do. if they recycled a individual building, if you press A on that building, it wont update the holographic image on your screen. You need to actually scout the building first, however.

I’ve never seen any top players on twitch, such as yoda or naka do this, or even heard of people doing this, unless i have the awareness of a grunt incapable of grabbing supplies. so has this been a thing people knew? or have i just discovered this. i found it out around season 2 or 3.

give it a try whenever you play a match.

also, its very good for figuring out which enemy dc’d

I’m locking this because, although it is useful, this isn’t intentional. It allows you to scout something you have not seen, avoiding the properties of fog of war. No harm done, though, I only recently learned it wasn’t intentional.
