I basically have a friend I was planning on playing all Halo games coop with, and we got Reach and CE done, through MCC (PC). However Halo 2 is just completely unplayable…
We managed to do Cairo Station all fine, but then with Outskirts the problems started. We tried everything we read online, setting the Graphics to “Performance” for Halo 2, starting the missions in single player first, starting the mission in the old graphics, it just won’t work. My cutscene starts, skips automatically, I freeze, then eventually an blue screen shows on his screen, his cutscene starts, and we are not together in a game. So I thought, well, Outskirts doesn’t have too much story lets just skip it. Metropolis starts up easy peasy, but after 15 minutes in the mission it just crashes back to main menu for both of us. And then we didn’t manage to restart the mission even.
Sooo now I’m wondering, if I really want to show him Halo 2, what would be the best way? Is it possible to still play the old Halo 2 online? Or do we have to do it locally? Otherwise I was thinking, does Halo 2 work better on MCC on the Xbox? Cause we could then perhaps use the XBox Cloud Gaming option just to play through Halo 2.
Either way, I’m open for any suggestions. Maybe there are some other things also we could change in our settings to make Halo 2 work in the MCC. It’s just so sad, cause having played it solo, I love it, and love the remastered cutscenes so much too.
